Regular admission is JPY 2,300 for adults, JPY 1,100 for elementary and junior high school students and JPY 400 for preschool children aged 3 and older. Children under 3 enter free. Date- or time-specific online tickets may be required on busy days. Night events require separate tickets.
Opening hours
Regular hours are 09:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:00. There is no regular weekly closing day, but maintenance closures occur in June and December. NIGHT AQUAWORLD, held on selected Saturdays and special event dates, runs 17:45–20:00, with last entry at 19:00. Follow official notices for other closures or hour changes.

How to get to Aqua World Ibaraki Prefectural Oarai Aquarium
From Oarai Station, take the Umimachi Line (うみまちライン) sightseeing route (観光ルート). Get off about 20 minutes later at Aqua World Oarai (アクアワールド・大洗), then walk about 1 minute to the aquarium. The adult bus fare is JPY 200 per ride. Other loop routes do not serve the aquarium; confirm the sightseeing route before boarding.

2026 maintenance closures
Maintenance closures in 2026 are 23–24 June and 7–11 December. Check whether these dates overlap your trip, as visits are unavailable. Date- and time-specific admission may apply on busy days.
Planned food court closure, November 2026–March 2027
The food court is scheduled to close from 1 November 2026 to mid-March 2027. Lunch there may be unavailable during this period; check dining area notices before visiting and make separate meal plans.
