Individual permanent-exhibition admission: adults ¥1,000, high school and university students ¥800, elementary and junior high school students and ages 70+ ¥500. Preschool children enter free, but check reservation and application conditions. Special exhibitions and the outdoor dinosaur museum cost extra.

How to get to Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum
Take Echizen Railway’s Katsuyama Eiheiji Line towards Katsuyama from Fukui. At the terminus, transfer to a museum-bound bus. Riding takes about one hour by train and 15 minutes by bus; waits and transfers are extra. The D Line in the 1 April 2026 timetable runs on opening days. The C Line has different conditions and stop order, so check your route. Adult one-way train fare is ¥820; museum buses cost ¥300 for adults and ¥200 for children one way.

Closures and extended summer hours
The museum closes on the second and fourth Wednesdays, or the following day when Wednesday is a public holiday. Guidance lists no closures during summer vacation. Check your date’s calendar for 31 December–1 January and temporary exhibition-change or maintenance closures. Extended summer hours ran 18 July–16 August 2026: 08:30–18:00, last entry 17:30.
