Admission
Individual admission for the viewing tunnel and observation decks is JPY 500 for adults and JPY 300 for elementary and junior high school students. The adult category covers ages 15 and older, excluding junior high school students. These fees apply from 1 July 2025 and include deck 1 and elevator access to deck 2. Follow official guidance for group fees and exemptions.
Opening hours
The waterfall viewing facilities operate year-round: 08:00–18:00 in May–October, 08:00–17:00 in November and 09:00–17:00 in December–April. Official guidance does not list a separate last-entry time; ask the facility if arriving late. Follow notices for temporary changes on your visit date.

The viewing facilities include deck 1 and deck 2, reached by elevator. Visit both in turn to see the waterfall from different heights.
How to get to Fukuroda Falls
Walk about 40 minutes from JR Fukuroda Station to the falls. By bus, get off at Takimoto and walk about 10 minutes. The Ibaraki guide walks out and takes a bus back. Enter the viewing tunnel, see the decks, then take a Fukuroda Station-bound bus from Takimoto bay 1 for JPY 260. Reach deck 2 by elevator inside the tunnel.

Visiting tips
Walking from the station to the waterfall
Walking from Fukuroda Station takes about 40 minutes. Even by bus, a further walk of about 10 minutes remains after getting off at Takimoto. Leave time to reach the waterfall entrance after your train or bus.
Return bus and Mito-bound train
Take a bus from Takimoto towards Fukuroda Station, then transfer to the Mito-bound Suigun Line. Check bus and train times together for your date. Delays may cause missed connections, so check the next service. The reference JR Mito–Fukuroda fare was JPY 1,040 one way in an Eki-net search on 8 October 2026.
