Admission
Standard admission for ages 18+: ¥2,500. The ¥1,000 Himeji resident rate does not apply to travellers. Under-18s enter free, with the exemption extending through 31 March following the year they turn 18. Adult Himeji Castle/Koko-en combined ticket: ¥2,600.
Opening hours
09:00–17:00, last entry 16:00. Closed 29–30 December. Check dated notices for weather- or event-related changes.

How to get to Himeji Castle
From Sannomiya, take JR Special Rapid towards Himeji/Aboshi/Banshu-Ako and get off at Himeji. Riding takes roughly 40 minutes; walk roughly 20 minutes from the station to the castle. Station access and waiting are extra. Keep visits include stairs and slopes, with no elevator.

Eating after the castle visit
Himeji Castle does not permit re-entry once you leave. Avoid a plan that exits for a meal mid-visit and returns inside. Finish the castle before eating or continuing to Koko-en.
