Admission
Garden-only admission for ages 18+: ¥400. Under-18s enter free, with the exemption extending through 31 March following the year they turn 18. Adult combined admission with Himeji Castle: ¥2,600.
Opening hours
09:00–17:00, last entry 16:30. Closed 29–30 December. Events may change hours; check the dated notice if attending one.

How to get to Koko-en
Walk roughly 15 minutes from JR Himeji Station to Koko-en. Enter through the gate in the enclosing wall west of Himeji Castle, separate from the castle’s paid entrance. The estimate starts at Himeji Station; it is not the castle-to-garden walk.
Visiting tips
Distinguish the entrance from Himeji Castle’s
After Himeji Castle, go to Koko-en’s entrance west of the castle. The gate in the enclosing wall is the garden entrance, separate from the paid castle entrance. The roughly 15-minute walk estimate from Himeji Station is not the castle-to-garden time.
