Admission
Entry to the building is free. Individual admission to the 5th-floor basic exhibition is JPY 510 for adults, JPY 310 for high school students and JPY 200 for elementary and junior high school students. The planetarium and special exhibitions cost extra. Preschool children accompanied by a guardian enter the basic exhibition and regular Dome Theatre programs free.
Opening hours
The building opens 09:30–21:30. The 5th-floor basic exhibition opens 09:30–18:00, with last admission at 17:30.

Visit the basic exhibition on the 5th floor. For the planetarium, look at programs in the 6th-floor Dome Theatre. The basic exhibition and planetarium need separate tickets.
How to get to Fukuoka City Science Museum
Take the subway Nanakuma Line to Ropponmatsu Station and walk to the museum. Find exhibition tickets at the information and ticket counter on the 3rd floor.
Visiting tips
Check exhibition closing times for an evening visit
Arrive before last admission at 17:30 to enter the basic exhibition. The building remains open until 21:30, but the basic exhibition closes at 18:00.
Tuesday and year-end closures
Closed Tuesdays and 28 December–1 January. If Tuesday is a public holiday, the museum opens and closes the next weekday instead. It opens daily during spring holidays, Golden Week, summer holidays and winter holidays, except at year-end and New Year. Check the official closure calendar for your date.

Does the basic exhibition ticket include the planetarium?
No. You need a separate planetarium ticket. Special exhibitions also have different fees from the basic exhibition. Ask about tickets for the exhibitions and programs you want at the 3rd-floor information and ticket counter.
