Descend into the cave in the coastal cliff to visit the main sanctuary. You need to climb back up the stairs, so allow time for the return walk as well as the shrine visit.
How to get to Udo Jingu
From Miyazaki Station, take a bus towards Obi and get off at Udo Jingu. Official tourism guidance gives approximately 90 minutes by bus and a normal approximately ten-minute walk to the shrine. Access restrictions can change that walk; check current notices for detours. Check return buses and section fares. Stairs descend into the cave sanctuary.

Visiting tips
Car park access restriction notice dated 7 September 2026
In its 7 September 2026 notice, the operator directed visitors to tourist parking because the access road to car parks 1 and 2 was restricted. Approximately 20 minutes from tourist parking to the sanctuary is one-way walking time; the visit and return are extra. The notice lists no reopening date; check subsequent guidance for your travel date.
