Grounds admission is ¥300 for adults or ¥150 for ages 6–12; children under 6 enter free. Entering the statue costs an additional ¥50 per person.

The grounds open 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m. April–September and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. October–March, with last admission 15 minutes before closing. The statue interior opens 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with last admission 10 minutes before closing.

How to get to Kotoku-in and the Great Buddha of Kamakura

From Kamakura Station, take a Fujisawa-bound Enoden train to Hase. Walk about 7 minutes to Kotoku-in. Hasedera is about a 5-minute walk from Kotoku-in.

Visiting tips

Visit the Great Buddha interior first

The statue interior opens 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with last admission 10 minutes before closing. It closes earlier than the grounds, so check interior visiting times first if arriving late in the afternoon.

No. Entering the statue costs ¥50 per person in addition to grounds admission.

Can I walk from Kotoku-in to Hasedera?

Yes. The walk takes about 5 minutes. You can combine both temples, allowing time for Hasedera’s stairs as well.
