Admission
The castle site is free to explore. Sendai Castle Kenbunkan is also free. The main enclosure's car park, historical museum and restaurants are separate facilities; check charges for those you will use.
Opening hours
The castle site can be visited 24 hours a day. Sendai Castle Kenbunkan opens 09:00–17:00 year-round. Other historical museums, car parks and facilities have their own hours.

In the main enclosure, see Date Masamune on horseback and the city spread out in front of the statue. Look at the castle-site stone walls on your way down after the views.

How to get to Site of Sendai Castle
Take Loople Sendai from bus bay 16 at Sendai Station's west exit. Get off at stop 6, Sendai Castle Site, and climb the stairs to Date Masamune's equestrian statue and the viewpoint in the main enclosure. Allow separate time for walking and sightseeing after alighting. The return bus continues in the same direction.
