3 days, 2 nights B

Stay in Sasebo and cruise on day 2

Choose two Sasebo nights if cruising between islands appeals more than city visits. Take the Kujukushima cruise on day 2 and an airport bus on the final day.

Day 1: airport to Sasebo accommodation

Travel directly from airport to Sasebo accommodation. For a late arrival, finish day 1 with meals and rest.

  1. Airport first-floor arrivals → Sasebo-bound bay 2

After immigration and luggage collection, leave first-floor arrivals for bus bays. Sasebo/Huis Ten Bosch use bay 2, distinct from Nagasaki city bays 4/5. Check the bus destination.

  2. Nagasaki Airport bay 2 → Sasebo Bus Center

Take a Sasebo-bound bus to Sasebo Bus Center. Adult one-way fare ¥1,500; no reservation, but full buses cannot accept you. Cash passengers take a numbered ticket when boarding and pay on alighting; supported IC cards require taps on/off. Choose a service after entry procedures in the official timetable. The last bus leaves on time even for delayed flights; if missed, ask airport information about available transport.

Nagasaki Airport–Sasebo return timetable for 1–24 October 2026Direct airport buses

Collect all luggage at the bus centre and go to booked station-area accommodation. Confirm address and storage availability before departure; if unavailable, eat after check-in. Bus-centre-to-accommodation walks, shuttles and taxis depend on your booking and are excluded from ¥1,500. For late arrivals, limit day 1 to meals/rest and cruise the next day. If full, check the next official service against accommodation check-in deadlines. The last airport bus leaves on time even if a connecting flight is delayed; if you cannot catch it, first check available transport and accommodation with airport transport information/staff.

Day 2: Kujukushima cruise and Sasebo return

Leave large luggage in your Sasebo room and visit the cruise. Return to the same accommodation after disembarking; airport travel is the next day.

  1. Sasebo-ekimae bay 6 → Pearl Sea Resort bus stop

Take a bus towards Pearl Sea Resort/Kujukushima Aquarium. The adult fare is ¥390 one way; the ride takes approximately 25 minutes on a regular service or eighteen on an express. Do not assume boarding a boat immediately on arrival; choose a sailing allowing ticket purchase and pier access.

    Bus access

  2. Resort bus stop → Cruise terminal ticket counter

From the stop on car park 1's shop side, follow the walkway in front of shops towards the waterfront cruise terminal. Find the ticket counter in the official-map building marked 「遊覧船ターミナル・乗船券発券所」. Stop-to-terminal walking is separate from the approximately fifty-minute sailing.

  3. Ticket counter → Confirm same-day sailing and ticket

Check operating sailings and remaining capacity at the counter, then obtain a time-specific boarding ticket. Tickets for all sailings go on sale around 09:00. Choose a sailing with time for ticketing and pier access, rather than immediately after bus arrival; meet the counter's boarding deadline. Individual seats are not guaranteed.

  4. Ticket-issuing counter → Directed pier and boarding

Check your ticket's sailing time, then go to the waterfront pier before the terminal. Different boat types use the resort; ask staff which boarding point matches your Pearl Queen ticket and queue before the stated deadline. If cancelled or sold out, omit the cruise and eat at the resort or return to Sasebo.

  5. Pearl Queen boarding → Same resort pier after the cruise

The adult fare is ¥2,200; a regular sailing takes approximately fifty minutes. Boarding/disembarking are extra; not every passenger is guaranteed a seat. Check same-day operator information for operation in rain or strong wind.

  6. Resort after disembarking → Meal and return bus boarding point

Eat or rest at the resort after disembarking, then retrace the shops-side walkway from terminal to the bus stop by car park 1. Allow walking to fit Sasebo-ekimae departures; if delayed, use the next service.

Bus accessFAQOfficial Pearl Sea Resort map: buses, ticket office and cruise pier

  7. Resort bus boarding point → Sasebo-ekimae

Choose a Sasebo-ekimae service in the resort departure timetable. The adult one-way fare is ¥390; an express ride takes approximately eighteen minutes, excluding waits/road delays. The final express is not necessarily the final service across all regular routes.

    Bus access

Leave for the resort from Sasebo-ekimae bay 6; check the resort timetable for returns. Expected arrival does not ensure immediate cruise boarding: check same-day operation, ticket purchase and pier access. If unable to cruise, return to Sasebo accommodation. Do not travel to the airport that day.

Day 3: Sasebo accommodation to Nagasaki Airport

After two Sasebo nights and the previous day's cruise, leave for the airport. Add no day 3 sightseeing; choose a bus fitting airline check-in.

  1. Sasebo accommodation → Sasebo Bus Center bay 1

Take luggage to airport-bound bay 1 at Sasebo Bus Center. No reservation is needed, but full buses cannot accept you. Choose an early service leaving check-in time. Accommodation walks/shuttles/taxis and their costs are separate from airport-bus fares.
