How to get to downtown Obihiro and Tokachigawa Onsen from Obihiro Airport

For Obihiro Station hotels, take an airport bus for 1,000 yen per adult. Tokachi Bus reaches the north side in about 38 minutes; hotel-route buses serve designated hotel stops. For Tokachigawa Onsen, change to bus 45 at the station or compare a direct airport taxi. The last onward bus leaves the station at 18:11: check taxi availability for an evening arrival.

From the arrival hall to the actual airport bus stop

  1. Come out to the arrival lobby on the 1st floor. On the airport’s official 1st floor map, international flights are marked as ‘到着口1’ and domestic flights are marked as ‘到着口2’. After completing international immigration, baggage, and customs, you will exit to the lobby. The bus ticket machine is located at ‘バス券売機’ near the domestic arrival lobby.   2. Choose the route and operator before paying. Station-bound Tokachi Bus accepts cash and PayPay. For the hotel route, use the lobby’s cashless ticket machine or cash on board. Takushoku services also support bank-card contactless payment; this does not apply to Tokachi Bus-operated services on the same hotel route.
  3. Go to the bus boarding area in front of the building. The official bus stop for the hotel-route service is Airport Stop 1. For the northbound route from the station, check the on-site ‘帯広駅バスターミナル’ destination and Tokachi Bus timetable and show the driver your destination. Station-bound bus stop numbers cannot be confirmed based on official information alone and must be confirmed on site. Separate it from platform 1 for the hotel circuit.   4. Tell the driver your stop before loading luggage. On the hotel route, collect checked luggage from the driver after getting off. Press the stop button after the announcement and wait until the bus stops before leaving. Tickets are route-specific, and a web ticket does not reserve a seat. You may have to wait if the bus is full.

Station 45 → Hot Springs major hotel stops are 600 yen based on the fare table revised in December 2025. Even if there is 500 yen left in the hotel FAQ, please prepare based on the 600 yen in the current operator's rate table. Please check the applicable period below for free benefits for hotel guests. The approximately 8,000-9,000 yen for an airport taxi is not a fixed reservation fee. Please check the official standards for carry-on items on Tokachi Bus regular routes: less than 30kg, 0.25m³, and 2m in length. Folding bicycles, skis, etc. require designated packaging, and you should not assume that regular buses to hot springs have the same trunk as airport buses. The Takushoku Hotel-route service uses cars with large trunks, but luggage, large musical instruments, and bicycles may be restricted during busy times, so it is necessary to inquire in advance. Accommodations north and west of Obihiro Station: Tokachi Bus route to Station

Tokachi Bus · 十勝バス runs from the airport via Kofuku, Taisho, Aikoku and Kawanishi to the north-side Obihiro Station Bus Terminal, then the station’s west side, Toyoko Inn/Super Hotel, western city stops and the bus headquarters. Its stops differ from the hotel route.

  1. Airport arrival lobby → Station-bound boarding area in front of the building. Check the destination, cash/PayPay, or get a ticket for the route.
  2. If you are transferring to the northern inn and hot springs, get off at “帯広駅バスターミナル”. It takes 38 minutes from the airport and costs 1,000 yen. Station 10 is the boarding stop for returning to the airport. Separate this from the drop-off location for buses arriving from the airport. After getting off, check your accommodation address or bus stop 45 at the north pedestrian area.
  3. For accommodation on the west side, get off at ‘帯広駅西口’ or ‘東横イン・スーパーホテル前’. It takes about 43 minutes to the west of the station, and about 44 minutes to the front of the hotel. Even if the names of the stops and hotels are similar, the buildings may be different. Check the walking route and time from the drop-off point to your booked accommodation. Don't walk along the edge of the driveway; check for crosswalks and actual entrances and exits.

If you are staying south of the station, look at the north → south walking directions and the JR station map. The south stop on the next hotel circuit is also comparable, as it adds time to get through the station with your luggage. Please check the JR train platform on the electronic board on the day, and do not confirm a limited express connection based on the bus arrival time. Hokkaido Takushoku Bus · 北海道拓殖バス operates the hotel route, with some services operated by Tokachi Bus. From the airport, stops run in this order: Hokkaido Hotel, Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro, Comfort, APA Hotel (north side), CABIN/Fukui Hotel, Grand Terrace, Nupka, Dormy Inn, Area One, then Kino/Otofuke. The airport-bound order differs.

Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro · ホテル日航ノースランド帯広 is south of the station; the APA stop is north. Hokkaido Hotel · 北海道ホテル is not directly outside the station.

Select a drop-off location on the map and compare the address and main entrance location of the accommodation you booked. The official stop information tells you to get on and off right in front of the hotel, but you will have to walk to the entrance of another nearby hotel.

  1. 1st floor lobby → No. 1 outside the airport. Prepare ticket, cash, and support touch payments for the relevant operator.
  2. Check hotel/city directions and show the driver the name of the hotel you are getting off at. Takushoku Web QR tickets cannot be used on the JAL573 connecting flight operated by Tokachi Bus.
  3. Purpose Hotel stop → Baggage pickup → Actual front door. Even in the same hotel, distinguish between pedestrian and vehicular access roads and follow the directions at the entrance. For other hotels, check the map location link for walking distances.

Transfer from Obihiro Station to Tokachigawa Onsen

  1. Airport → Get off at the bus terminal north of the station. 38 minutes to Tokachi Bus Station, 1,000 yen. If you take the hotel circuit, you must get off in front of North APA and travel separately to the bus terminal.
  2. Take route 45 towards 十勝川温泉. The ordinary fare is 600 yen. Take a numbered ticket when boarding and pay or present the designated ticket when leaving; cash and supported QR payments are available, but do not assume transport IC cards work. The weekday/weekend PDFs normally show bay 6, with bay 7 for 13:26, 15:26 and 18:11, and bay 5 for the weekday 07:11. GTFS uses bay 6 throughout, so follow the PDF footnotes and on-site signs.
  3. After waiting for the bus, get off at the stop corresponding to your accommodation. Arrival at the hot spring hotel area on the published timetable is approximately 28 minutes after departure from the station. Please let the driver know which of Daiichi Hotel, Kangetsuen, Garden Spa, Sasai Hotel, and Daiheigen are suitable for accommodation. As hotel areas are tied to the same time, individual arrival times at the front door are not guaranteed.
  4. Get off, collect your luggage and walk to the hotel entrance. A south-side hot-spring stop does not give direct access to every hotel; use the stop-specific walks below.

PDF number 45, currently linked to the official list, is revised on June 2, 2025. Departure from the station on weekdays is 07:11, 08:50, 11:20, 13:26, 14:33, 15:26, 16:51, 18:11, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, it is 08:50, 11:20, 13:26, 15:26, 16:51, and 18:11. You must check the weekend ticket for August 14th to 16th and a separate special table for December 29th to January 3rd.

Connection example: Airport 15:40 → Station 16:18 → No. 45 16:51 → Hot Springs Hotel Area 17:19. According to the timetable, it is 33 minutes from the station to the next bus. You must receive baggage, issue tickets, and move to the boarding area within this area. If there is a delay, compare the last 18:11 departure, and check the taxi dispatch if you miss that bus as well. Airport 18:55 → Station 19:33 and later flights do not connect to the last bus to Hot Springs.

Free tickets for hotel guests and hotel shuttle are different

Free campaign from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 is for guests staying at Daiheigen, Sasai Hotel, Kangetsuen, Sanyoan, Daiichi Hotel (Hoshutei/Toyotei), Fuji Hotel, and Seizakubo. Applies to general route buses between stations and hot springs on check-in and check-out days, and the airport bus section is separate. Show your reservation confirmation email, reservation form, and accommodation name at the bus terminal window on the north side of the station and receive a special ticket. When leaving, place half of the ticket in the fare box and submit the remainder to the front desk of the hotel. When returning, receive a return ticket from the front desk and use it when getting off at the station. Kangetsuen’s checked FAQ says it does not provide a station or airport shuttle. Ask your own hotel about any service before relying on it. For a confirmed shuttle, check guest eligibility, flight number, pickup point, booking deadline and delay/change/cancellation rules.

Direct buses from the airport to the hot springs are currently suspended.

In the airport's official Korean flight information, there is a special airport → station → hot spring route connecting Cheongju, but it is listed as closed from August 31 to October 24, 2026. The Incheon flight connection is suspended for the time being. The hotel circuit route to Otofuke is not a route to hot springs, and Sahoro Resort hotel guests' exclusive vehicles are also not available for travel to these hot springs. From the hot spring stop to the entrance of the accommodation

Daiichi Hotel · Tokachigawa Onsen Daiichi Hotel · 十勝川温泉第一ホテル: Get off at ‘第一ホテル’. Official hotel information states that the stop is right next to the Toyotei main gate. Please pack your bags, enter the pedestrian ramp, and show your reservation confirmation for Hoshutei/Toyotei at the front desk. Guests staying at Sanyoan should not assume that the same main entrance is their own, but should follow Sanyoan's entrance instructions. Hotel official information

Kangetsuen · 観月苑: When you get off at ‘観月苑’, it is in front of the accommodation. Match the stop names with the official access instructions and proceed to the pedestrian area near the entrance. If you get off at Garden Spa, it will take about 5 minutes to walk additionally, according to the hotel's official information. Please do not confuse the stop information for the Milky Liner departing from ‘新千歳空港’ with the information for the Obihiro Airport bus. Official access information

Garden Spa Tokachigawa Onsen · ガーデンスパ十勝川温泉, Sasai Hotel · 笹井ホテル and Hotel Daiheigen · ホテル大平原 have separate stops. For Fuji Hotel, Seizakubo or another property, ask your hotel which stop and entrance to use.

For other hotels, please inquire with the hotel you booked about the distance to walk from the drop-off stop to the entrance and the snow-cleared paths.

Obihiro Airport last buses, flight delays and taxis

Station-bound Tokachi Bus: The last basic departure at 19:35 in the table from September 1 to October 24, 2026 is the JAL579 connection. According to ‘※3’, from October 1st to 24th, the departure time is 10 minutes earlier at 19:25 → arrival at the station at 20:03. The official October GTFS also confirms this view.

It is the same for weekdays and weekends, and if the flight arrives earlier, the bus may also depart earlier.

Hotel circuit: During the same period, the last departure from the airport for published timetables is 19:35 → Hokkaido Hotel 20:10 → Nikko 20:14 → APA 20:16 → Area One 20:21. There is a note in the last two services that the time is extended due to the stop at the Hokkaido Hotel.

For October, the station-bound timetable shows 19:25 while the hotel route shows 19:35. Do not assume you can wait until 19:35: check the route and actual departure with staff when JAL579 arrives. Follow any newer operator notice.

Tokachi Bus informs you that departures will be adjusted according to delays. Takushoku checks connection flight delays and baggage pickup status and adjusts departure. Buses may also be suspended during flight cancellations or planned suspensions. There are no regulations that guarantee unlimited waiting, boarding of all passengers, or access to hot springs. The last bus to Hot Springs departs the station at 18:11 → arrives at the hotel area at 18:39. Even if you arrive at the station by the last bus from the airport, it will not connect you. The airport taxi stand is in front of the terminal. Accommodation near the station is about 35 minutes and 8,000 yen, and the hot spring is about 40 minutes and 9,000 yen is the airport's official estimate. Airport official flat-rate taxi tickets are for a maximum of 4 people in an ordinary car, reserved by phone in advance, and run from 06:00 to 22:00. Winter fares are separate from December 10 to March 26 of the following year, and metered fares may apply if you leave the zone boundary or change your destination. Reduce moving luggage from the bus stop to the front door in winter

It is a short trip within the same bus terminal from getting off at the north side of the station to the bus stop for hot springs, but there is additional waiting time at the ticket counter and bus stop for hotel guests. You need to pass through the station to get to the hotels north to south of the station, and you have to walk a separate road to get to the Hokkaido Hotel or other hotels in the hot springs.

At night, save the address and entrance location in advance and ask the hotel for accessible entrances, crosswalks, and snow-cleared access roads. Don't just look at the straight line distance on the map and decide when to walk with your suitcase in the snow.

On snowy days, please inquire with your accommodation about the snow removal status of surrounding sidewalks and entrances. If you have difficulty moving due to slippery sections or large luggage, compare taxi dispatch between the drop-off point and your accommodation. The QR ticket to the hotel is used at the purchased drop-off point during the section from Airport No. 1 → City Hotel, Kino, and Otofuke. This is not a ticket to a hot spring. Compare the sales period, usage date, and section until October 24, 2026 on the purchase screen. You pay with a credit card and show the email QR to the driver. There is no need to exchange for a paper ticket. Seats are not reserved and cannot be used on JAL573 operated by Tokachi Bus. The product FAQ informs you that no separate contact is required to change the usage date. How do I get from Obihiro Airport to Obihiro Station?

Take the Tokachi Bus airport shuttle to the station’s north bus terminal: about 38 minutes and 1,000 yen per adult. Hotel-route services use different stops, including Nikko Northland/Comfort south of the station and APA to the north. Match the actual stop to your hotel address.

Is reservation required for the airport bus?

Reservations are not required for regular station-bound and hotel-route airport buses. It is a first-come, first-served basis and you may not be able to ride if all seats are filled. Buying an official web ticket does not guarantee a seat. Takushoku QR tickets cannot be used on Tokachi Bus services.

Can I get off near my accommodation?

Hotel circuits stop at designated hotel stops. The route to the station stops on the north and west sides of the station and in front of Toyoko Inn/Super Hotel. Not all buses stop in front of all hotels, so check the routes and actual drop-off locations.

Can I go directly from the airport to Tokachigawa Onsen?

The published direct services connecting with Korean flights are unavailable in the checked information for 5 October 2026: the Cheongju service is suspended 31 August–24 October, and the Incheon service until further notice. Compare a route-45 connection at Obihiro Station or a taxi. Check a new official notice before treating a direct service as resumed.

Is there a railway station at the airport?

The airport has no railway station. Take an airport bus or taxi to Obihiro Station for JR. The onward route from the station to Tokachigawa Onsen uses bus 45, not a train.

If my flight is late, can I use the bus?

Tokachi Bus may adjust departures for flight delays; Takushoku checks connecting-flight delays and baggage collection before departure. Neither arrangement guarantees unlimited waiting or an onward connection to Tokachigawa Onsen.

How do I travel in winter or after the last bus?

The published weekday and weekend timetables give 18:11 as the last route-45 departure from Obihiro Station to Tokachigawa Onsen. Late airport buses do not connect with it. Ask about a taxi to your hotel, and in snow confirm the route from the drop-off point across any crossings to the entrance.
