Arrival at OBO · The route is different for hotels near the station and hot spring hotels

Obihiro Airport to Obihiro Station and Tokachigawa Onsen

For Obihiro Station hotels, the airport bus costs JPY 1,000 one way for an adult. Tokachi Bus reaches the station’s north side in about 38 minutes; the hotel-loop service calls at specified hotels. For Tokachigawa Onsen, change to route 45 at the station or take a taxi from the airport. The last bus to the onsen leaves the station at 18:11, so evening arrivals should check taxi availability beforehand.

There is no railway station at Tokachi Obihiro Airport · とかち帯広空港 (OBO). To take a train from Obihiro Station · 帯広駅, you must travel separately from the airport to the station.

Tokachi · 十勝 is a large area, and the destination of this guide is Tokachigawa Onsen · 十勝川温泉. This does not mean that you can go to the entire Tokachi area for the same price.

Source facts checked: . The airport-bus tables apply from 1 September–24 October 2026. Check the new table for travel from 25 October.

Choose by hotel area

From arrivals to the correct airport bus

  1. Enter the 1F arrivals lobby.

The official floor map labels international arrivals ‘到着口1’ and domestic arrivals ‘到着口2’. Complete immigration, baggage collection and customs before leaving the international area. The ‘バス券売機’ ticket machine is near domestic arrivals. Arrival gates and doors out of the building are different points.

  2. Choose the route and prepare its payment method.

The station-bound Tokachi Bus accepts cash and PayPay. For the hotel loop, use the lobby's cashless ticket machine or onboard cash. Takushoku-operated buses also accept supported contactless credit cards; this does not apply to the Tokachi Bus-operated departures on the same hotel-loop route. Check both the route and operator.

  3. Go to the bus area outside the terminal.

The hotel-loop service uses airport stop 1. For Tokachi Bus to the station's north terminal, check ‘帯広駅バスターミナル’, the timetable and on-site guidance. Its airport bay number is not confirmed in the official sources used here; do not assume hotel-loop stop 1 serves it too.

  4. Tell the driver your drop-off before loading bags.

Collect hold luggage from the driver after getting off. Press the stop-request button after the announcement and wait until the vehicle stops. Tickets for different routes are not interchangeable. Web tickets do not reserve a seat; a full bus may not accept you.

North and west station hotels: Tokachi Bus

Tokachi Bus · 十勝バス's connecting airport shuttle bus goes from the airport → Kofuku, Taisho, Aikoku, Kawanishi → Obihiro Station North Bus Terminal → Station West → Toyoko Inn Super Hotel Front → City West, Bus Headquarters. It passes through stops around the main accommodation, but has a different stop list than the hotel circuit.

  1. Airport arrival lobby → Station-bound boarding area in front of the building.

Check the ‘帯広駅バスターミナル’ destination, cash/PayPay, or get a ticket for the route.

  2. If you are transferring to the northern accommodation/hot springs, get off at ‘帯広駅バスターミナル’.

38 minutes from the airport, 1,000 yen. Bay 10 is for the return bus to the airport. Separate this from the drop-off location for buses arriving from the airport. After getting off, check your accommodation address or the route 45 boarding bay on the north side.

  3. For hotels on the west side, get off at ‘帯広駅西口’ or ‘東横イン・スーパーホテル前’.

The bus takes about 43 minutes to Station West or 44 minutes to Toyoko Inn/Super Hotel Front. Even if the names of the stops and hotels are similar, the buildings may be different. Check the walking route and time from the drop-off point to your booked accommodation. Don't walk along the edge of the driveway; check for crosswalks and actual entrances and exits.

For a hotel south of the station, compare North → South walking directions and JR station layout. Crossing the station with bags adds time; compare a south-side hotel-loop stop. For onward JR travel, check the departure board and allow time to reach the platform. A scheduled bus arrival does not guarantee the limited-express connection.

Hotel-loop buses: choose your actual hotel stop

The hotel loop is operated by Hokkaido Takushoku Bus · 北海道拓殖バス, with some Tokachi Bus departures. From the airport, the stop order is Hokkaido Hotel → Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro → Comfort → APA Hotel Front (North) → CABIN/Fukui Hotel → Grand Terrace → Nupka → Dormy Inn → Area One → Kino/Otofuke. The return stop order differs; use the airport→city table.

Hotel Nikko Northland Obihiro · ホテル日航ノースランド帯広 is on the south side of the station, and in front of APA Hotel is on the north side. Hokkaido Hotel · 北海道ホテル is not an accommodation located right in front of the station.

Select a drop-off location on the map and compare the address and main entrance location of the accommodation you booked. The official stop information tells you to get on and off right in front of the hotel, but you will have to walk to the entrance of another nearby hotel.

  1. 1st floor lobby → No. 1 outside the airport. Prepare a ticket or payment accepted by the operator of your departure.
  2. Check hotel/city directions and show the driver the name of the hotel you are getting off at. Takushoku web QR tickets cannot be used on the Tokachi Bus departure linked to JAL573.
  3. Selected hotel stop → Baggage pickup → Actual front door. Even in the same hotel, distinguish between pedestrian and vehicular access roads and follow the directions at the entrance. For other hotels, check the map location link for walking distances.

Transfer from Obihiro Station to Tokachigawa Onsen

  1. Airport → Get off at the bus terminal north of the station.

Tokachi Bus takes about 38 minutes and costs JPY 1,000. If you take the hotel circuit, you must get off in front of North APA and travel separately to the bus terminal.

  2. Prepare payment or eligible-stay proof, then find route 45 ‘十勝川温泉’.

Regular fare is 600 yen. You receive a numbered ticket while riding, and when you get off, you present cash, QR payment, or a dedicated ticket. Do not prepare based on the premise of using a transport IC. The weekday and weekend/public-holiday PDFs use bay 6 normally, bay 7 for 13:26, 15:26 and 18:11, and bay 5 for weekday 07:11. GTFS records a common bay 6. Follow the PDF’s departure-specific notes and current signs.

  3. After waiting for the bus, get off at the stop appropriate for your accommodation.

Arrival at the hot spring hotel area for published timetables is approximately 28 minutes after departure from the station. Please let the driver know which of Daiichi Hotel, Kangetsuen, Garden Spa, Sasai Hotel, and Daiheigen are suitable for accommodation. As hotel areas are tied to the same time, individual arrival times at the front door are not guaranteed.

  4. Get off → Check your luggage → Go to the entrance of the accommodation.

Not all hotels can be accessed directly from the south stop of the hot springs. Check the last movements by stop and hotel below.

PDF number 45, currently linked to the official list, is revised on June 2, 2025. Departure from the station on weekdays is 07:11, 08:50, 11:20, 13:26, 14:33, 15:26, 16:51, 18:11, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, it is 08:50, 11:20, 13:26, 15:26, 16:51, and 18:11. The weekend/public-holiday table also applies 14–16 August; use a separate special table for 29 December–3 January.

Connection example: Airport 15:40 → Station 16:18 → No. 45 16:51 → Hot Springs Hotel Area 17:19. According to the timetable, it is 33 minutes from the station to the next bus. Allow those 33 minutes for collecting bags, obtaining any ticket and finding the bay. If there is a delay, compare the last 18:11 bus, and check the taxi dispatch if you miss that bus as well. Airport 18:55 → Station 19:33 and later buses do not connect to the last bus to the hot springs.

Free route-bus tickets and hotel shuttles are different

The 1 April 2026–31 March 2027 free route-bus scheme covers guests at Daiheigen, Sasai Hotel, Kangetsuen, Sanyoan, Daiichi Hotel (Hoshutei/Toyotei), Fuji Hotel and Seizakubo. It covers the station↔onsen regular bus on check-in/check-out dates, not the airport bus. Show your reservation confirmation email, reservation form, and accommodation name at the bus terminal window on the north side of the station and receive a special ticket. On the outward trip, place half of the ticket in the fare box and give the remaining half to the hotel front desk. When returning, receive a return ticket from the front desk and use it when getting off at the station. If you have difficulty presenting proof at the counter, please contact your accommodation in advance.

The official FAQ of Kangetsuen that we checked indicates that neither station nor airport shuttle service is provided. If you wish to use the hot springs hotel's airport shuttle, you must check directly with the property to see if it operates and what the reservation conditions are. If you are offered an individual shuttle service from another accommodation, please check with the accommodation for guest conditions, flight number, pick-up location, reservation deadline, and change/cancellation policies in case of delay, and receive confirmation before using it.

Direct buses from the airport to the onsen are currently suspended.

The airport’s Korean-flight connecting-bus notice lists the Cheongju-linked airport→station→onsen bus as suspended from 31 August–24 October 2026. The Incheon-linked bus is suspended until further notice. These are bus suspensions, not a statement that the flights are suspended. The hotel circuit route to Otofuke is not a route to hot springs, and Sahoro Resort hotel guests' exclusive vehicles are also not available for travel to these hot springs. Please do not include direct buses in your travel plans until the reopening.

From the hot spring stop to the entrance of the accommodation

Tokachigawa Onsen Daiichi Hotel · 十勝川温泉第一ホテル: Get off at ‘第一ホテル’. Hotel official information specifies that the stop is right next to the Toyotei main gate. Please collect your bags, enter the pedestrian ramp, and show your reservation confirmation for Hoshutei/Toyotei at the front desk. Guests staying at Sanyoan should not assume that the same main entrance is their own, but should follow Sanyoan's entrance instructions.

Kangetsuen · 観月苑: When you get off at ‘観月苑’, it is in front of the accommodation. Official stop and entrance guide and move to the pedestrian area near the entrance. If you get off at Garden Spa, it will take about 5 minutes to walk additionally, according to the hotel's official information. Please do not confuse the stop information for the Milky Liner departing from ‘新千歳空港’ with the information for the Obihiro Airport bus.

Garden Spa Tokachigawa Onsen · ガーデンスパ十勝川温泉, Sasai Hotel · 笹井ホテル and Hotel Daiheigen · ホテル大平原 have separate stops. For hotels such as Fuji Hotel and Seizakubo, please inquire about transportation to the drop-off point and entrance closest to the accommodation you have booked.

For other hotels, please inquire with the hotel where you booked the distance to walk from the drop-off stop to the entrance and the snow-cleared roads.

Garden Spa → Kangetsuen Walking Directions ↗. Directions do not guarantee same-day passage or snow removal. In winter, getting off at the bus stop named near your accommodation will reduce the need to move luggage.

Last airport buses, delayed flights and taxis

Station-bound Tokachi Bus: the 1 September–24 October 2026 table's default last departure is 19:35, connecting with JAL579. Footnote 3 moves it ten minutes earlier on 1–24 October: 19:25 → station 20:03. The official October GTFS agrees. Weekdays and weekends use the same time; an earlier aircraft arrival can also mean an earlier bus departure.

Hotel-loop bus: the same period's published last departure is 19:35 → Hokkaido Hotel 20:10 → Nikko 20:14 → APA 20:16 → Area One 20:21. The last two departures have a note allowing extra time for the Hokkaido Hotel stop.

The station route's 19:25 and hotel loop's 19:35 are published differently. Do not assume you can wait until 19:35: ask the driver at the stop after JAL579 arrives, and follow any newer operator notice.

Tokachi Bus adjusts departures for flight delays. Takushoku checks connecting-flight delays and baggage collection before departing. A cancelled or suspended flight may also mean a cancelled bus. Neither policy guarantees unlimited waiting, boarding for every passenger or an onsen connection. After collecting bags, go to the stop and contact the bus operator and your hotel if delayed.

The last route 45 bus leaves the station at 18:11 and reaches the onsen hotel area at 18:39. The last airport buses cannot connect with it. Use the official taxi rank outside the terminal or enquire with Taisho Kotsu, 0155-64-5011, or Obihiro Hire, 0155-33-8844. Airport estimates are about 35 minutes/JPY 8,000 to the station or 40 minutes/JPY 9,000 to the onsen; these are not fixed quotes. Confirm night/winter charges, vehicle capacity and your actual hotel entrance.

The airport fixed-fare taxi scheme requires advance telephone booking, an ordinary car for up to four passengers and travel within 06:00–22:00. Winter fares apply separately from 10 December–26 March. Leaving the specified area or changing the destination may trigger a metered fare; tolls and parking are extra. Ask separately about onsen fares, availability, flight-delay changes and cancellation. Fixed fares do not apply automatically to every rank taxi.

Winter: plan the final walk with luggage

Changing to route 45 involves a short walk within the north-side terminal, plus ticket-counter and bus waiting. South-side hotels require crossing the station. Hokkaido Hotel and individual onsen hotels have their own final approaches.

At night, save the address and entrance location in advance and ask the hotel for accessible entrances, crosswalks, and snow-cleared access roads. Don't just look at the straight line distance on the map and decide when to walk with your suitcase in the snow.

On snowy days, please inquire with your accommodation about the snow removal status of surrounding sidewalks and entrances. If you have difficulty moving due to slippery sections or large luggage, compare taxi dispatch between the drop-off point and your accommodation. For heavy snow or restrictions, check Tokachi Bus, Takushoku and official road information. For an onward train, check JR service status separately.

Official tickets and booking information

The QR ticket to the hotel is used at the purchased drop-off point during the section from Airport No. 1 → City Hotel, Kino, and Otofuke. This is not a ticket to a hot spring. Compare the sales period, usage date, and section until October 24, 2026 on the purchase screen. You pay with a credit card and show the email QR to the driver. There is no need to exchange for a paper ticket. Seats are not reserved and cannot be used on the Tokachi Bus service connecting with JAL573. The product FAQ informs you that no separate contact is required to change the usage date. Cancellation Policy is 100 yen from the reservation date to the day of departure, and 100% after departure. Please check the sales period and operation status even on the changed date. For cancellation inquiries, call 0155-31-8811 (07:00~19:00).

The button above is the operator’s official purchase and use guide. If you are planning to purchase a rail pass, please check the product conditions to see whether the airport bus is included.

Obihiro Airport Transportation, Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get from Obihiro Airport to Obihiro Station?

The Tokachi Bus airport service reaches the station north-side bus terminal in about 38 minutes, at JPY 1,000 one way for an adult. Hotel-loop buses use different stops, including Nikko Northland/Comfort on the south side or APA on the north. Choose by your hotel address.

Do airport buses need a reservation?

Normal station-bound and hotel-loop buses are first come, first served without seat reservations. A web ticket does not guarantee a seat on a full bus. Takushoku QR tickets cannot be used on Tokachi Bus-operated departures.

Can I get off near my hotel?

The hotel loop stops at specified hotels. The station route serves the north and west station areas and Toyoko Inn/Super Hotel. Not every bus stops at every hotel; compare the actual stop with your booked address.

Is there a direct bus to Tokachigawa Onsen?

The special Cheongju-flight connecting bus is suspended from 31 August–24 October 2026, and the Incheon-flight connection is suspended until further notice. These are Korean-flight services, not new India services. For the current trip, compare route 45 via Obihiro Station or an airport taxi. Check official notices for any restart.

Does the airport have a railway station?

No. Reach Obihiro Station by airport bus or taxi before taking JR. The station–Tokachigawa Onsen connection is route 45 bus, not a train.

Will the airport bus wait for a delayed flight?

Tokachi Bus adjusts departures for flight delays, while Takushoku checks the connecting flight and baggage collection. This does not guarantee unlimited waiting or a connection to the onsen. Ask the operator after collecting your bags.

What if I arrive in winter or miss the last onsen bus?

The published weekday and weekend route 45 tables end at 18:11 from Obihiro Station. Evening airport buses do not connect. Ask about a taxi from the airport or station to your actual hotel. In snow, ask the hotel about cleared paths, crossings and entrance access before planning the final suitcase walk.
