An afternoon visit
Last admission is 16:00, closing 16:30. If visiting after a hotel stop, allow travel both ways between station and accommodation before planning arrival.
Regular closures and exhibition changeovers
The museum closes Wednesdays except public holidays. It also closes the last Monday each month, or the following day if that Monday is a holiday, and December 28–January 4. Temporary exhibition changeover closures are possible; check the exhibition period you want.

Do I need another train from Yumoto for the history museum?
No. Walk about five minutes from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Unlike the Open-Air Museum, it does not require a further mountain railway ride.
