Visiting in the afternoon
Last admission is 16:00 and closing is at 16:30. If you visit after stopping at your hotel, allow for travel between the hotel and station when planning your arrival.
Regular closures and exhibition changes
Closed Wednesdays, except public holidays, and the last Monday of each month, or the following day if that Monday is a holiday. Also closed 28 December–4 January. Temporary closures for exhibition changes may occur, so check the dates of the exhibition you want to see.

Do you need another train from Yumoto to the history museum?
No. It is about five minutes on foot from Hakone-Yumoto Station. You do not need to go further uphill by mountain train as you would for the Open-Air Museum.
