Admission
Adults 500 yen; ages 65 and above and students aged 16 and above 250 yen; ages 15 and below free. Bring official proof such as age documentation or student ID for discounted admission.
Opening hours
1 October–14 March: 09:00–16:30, last admission 16:00. 15 March–30 September: 09:00–18:00, last admission 17:30. Within that period, 11 June–31 July extends to 09:00–19:00, last admission 18:30. Entry ends 30 minutes before each seasonal closing time. Usually closed Mondays and 29 December–3 January. Holidays and cherry blossom/chrysanthemum exhibition periods have opening exceptions; check flower-season advance reservations too.

How to get to Shinjuku Gyoen
Walk about 10 minutes from JR Shinjuku's South Exit to Shinjuku Gate, or about 5 minutes from Shinjuku-gyoemmae exit 1 or Shinjuku-sanchome exit E5. Other gates have different routes; use directions for your chosen gate.

Check flower-season opening and reservation conditions
Gyoen is usually closed Mondays, or the next weekday after a public holiday, and 29 December–3 January. Cherry blossom and chrysanthemum exhibition periods can have Monday-opening exceptions. Check advance-reservation conditions for the relevant flower season too.
Choose an entrance for your station
Shinjuku Gate is about 10 minutes from Shinjuku's South Exit or 5 minutes from Shinjuku-gyoemmae exit 1 and Shinjuku-sanchome exit E5. For another gate, check its route separately.
