Admission
Adult admission is ¥500. Visitors ages 65 and older and students ages 16 and older pay ¥250; ages 15 and younger enter free. Bring proof of age or a student ID that meets the official requirements when using a discounted rate.
Opening hours
From October 1–March 14, the garden opens 9:00 AM–4:30 PM, with admission until 4:00 PM. From March 15–September 30, it opens 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with admission until 5:30 PM. Within that period, June 11–July 31 hours extend to 9:00 AM–7:00 PM, with admission until 6:30 PM. Last admission is 30 minutes before seasonal closing time. The garden normally closes Mondays and December 29–January 3. Public holidays and cherry blossom and chrysanthemum exhibition periods have opening exceptions. Check advance reservation requirements during flower season.

How to get to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
For Shinjuku Gate, walk about 10 minutes from JR Shinjuku Station's South Exit, or about five minutes from Shinjuku-gyoemmae Station Exit 1 or Shinjuku-sanchome Station Exit E5. Other gates have different routes, so check the entrance you plan to use.

Check opening and reservation rules during flower season
The garden normally closes Mondays, or the next weekday when Monday is a public holiday, and December 29–January 3. It has exceptions for Monday openings during cherry blossom and chrysanthemum exhibition periods. Check the relevant seasonal notice for advance reservation requirements, too.
