Adults pay JPY 500; ages 65 and above and students aged 16 and above pay JPY 250. Ages 15 and under enter free. For a discount, prepare age proof or student ID as required in official guidance.
Opening hours and closed days
From 1 October to 14 March, the garden opens from 09:00 to 16:30, with admission until 16:00. From 15 March to 30 September, it opens from 09:00 to 18:00, with admission until 17:30. Within that period, it has extended hours from 09:00 to 19:00 between 11 June and 31 July, with admission until 18:30. Last admission is 30 minutes before seasonal closing. The garden usually closes on Mondays and 29 December–3 January. Public holidays and cherry blossom and chrysanthemum periods have exceptions. Check advance reservation requirements during flower seasons.

How to get to Shinjuku Gyoen
For Shinjuku Gate, walk about 10 minutes from JR Shinjuku’s south exit, or about 5 minutes from Shinjuku-gyoemmae exit 1 or Shinjuku-sanchome exit E5. Other gates require different routes; choose directions for your entrance.

The garden usually closes on Mondays, or the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday. It also closes on 29 December–3 January. Cherry blossom and chrysanthemum exhibition periods can have Monday openings. Check advance reservation conditions for that season.
