Terminal 1 or 2 → Central Japan International Airport Station
Central Japan International Airport Station · 中部国際空港駅 is at Access Plaza · アクセスプラザ. Terminal 1 · 第1ターミナル and Terminal 2 · 第2ターミナル have separate arrival halls.
T1: 2F arrivals → Access Plaza
- Clear immigration and collect your bags, then leave through the 2F arrival hall.
- Follow Railway / Access Plaza signs along the connecting passage. The airport describes step-free station access.
- Choose your destination and train at the Meitetsu machines or counter, buy the required tickets and enter the gates.
The connection is on the same level. The official guide does not give a fixed walking time from T1 arrivals; allow time to walk and buy tickets.
T2: 1F arrivals → P1 passage → station
- Leave the 1F arrival hall and follow Railway / 中部国際空港駅 signs.
- The official station route through the P1 car park passage takes about 7 minutes.
- At Access Plaza, buy your Meitetsu tickets and enter the gates.
A separate terminal transfer guide describes an approximately 10-minute route via the ramp or lift to 2F, Flight of Dreams · フライト・オブ・ドリームズ and moving walkways. These are different routes. Add lift waits and time with bags to the stated walking times.
The free terminal shuttle is another option, with services described at roughly 15-minute intervals. Check the current stops and operating hours. For the Sakae bus, go to T1 stop 6 first.

Base fare and μticket are separate
μSKY · ミュースカイ has special cars only, with every seat reserved. It usually uses platform 1; other Limited Express and Express trains usually use platforms 2 or 3. Follow the departure board for your service.
Some Limited Express trains have both special and ordinary cars; others have ordinary cars only. Check the car type before boarding. A base-fare ticket or an accepted IC card such as manaca, Suica or ICOCA covers an ordinary car. A special car also needs a μticket.
An online μticket covers the seat surcharge only. You still need a separate base-fare ticket or IC card. Bookings open one month before travel and depend on seats being available. Conditional online time-slot discounts are separate from the standard JPY 450 surcharge.

Nagoya Station hotels: where to go after leaving Meitetsu
Meitetsu Nagoya Station · 名鉄名古屋駅 is south of JR Nagoya Station · 名古屋駅 and the subway station. Similar names do not mean shared gates or platforms.
- Arrival hall → airport station: use the T1 or T2 route above.
- Buy tickets → board a Meitetsu train calling at Nagoya: choose μSKY or an ordinary car. A train bound for Gifu or Inuyama can be suitable if it calls at Meitetsu Nagoya.
- Meitetsu Nagoya → exit the Meitetsu gates: follow signs for JR, Shinkansen or the subway.
- Continue to your hotel or JR platform: Sakura-dori Exit · 桜通口 is on the east of JR Nagoya; Taiko-dori Exit · 太閤通口 is on the west. For the Shinkansen, continue towards the west and use the appropriate JR gates with a separate JR ticket.
A hotel west of JR Nagoya still involves walking through the station after leaving Meitetsu. Check your hotel's address and the lift route rather than assuming every station hotel is beside the same exit. A Meitetsu μticket cannot be used on JR. Allow enough time for a Shinkansen change with luggage.

For a Kanayama hotel, get off before Nagoya
Kanayama Station · 金山駅 is about 24 minutes from the airport on μSKY, costing JPY 1,360 including the seat surcharge. Ordinary cars cost JPY 910 and take different amounts of time depending on stops. Go from arrivals to the airport station → take a train calling at Kanayama → leave the gates → walk to your hotel's address.
North-side and south-side hotels need different exits. To continue to Sakae, leave the Meitetsu gates and follow Municipal Subway signs to the separate subway gates. JR and subway transfers are different connections.
Sakae hotels: compare the subway with your bus drop-off
For Sakae · 栄, compare your hotel's distance from the subway station and the airport bus stop.
Train → Kanayama → clockwise Meijo Line → Sakae
Arrivals → airport station → Kanayama → leave Meitetsu gates → enter the municipal subway → clockwise Meijo Line towards Sakae / Ozone → Sakae Station → hotel. The train passes Higashi Betsuin, Kamimaezu and Yabacho before Sakae.
Add about 8 minutes and JPY 210 for the subway, plus interchange and waiting time. The airport total is JPY 1,120 using an ordinary car or JPY 1,570 using μSKY. The anticlockwise Meijo Line takes the long way around.
Alternatively, change at Nagoya to the Higashiyama Line towards Fujigaoka, passing Fushimi before Sakae. The subway takes about 5 minutes and costs JPY 210; airport totals are JPY 1,190 for an ordinary car or JPY 1,640 for μSKY. Walking between gates and waiting are extra.
Bus: T1 stop 6 → Tokyu Hotel or Sakae NE2b
Nagoya Tokyu Hotel · 名古屋東急ホテル has a hotel-front drop-off about 50 minutes from the airport. Sakae NE2b is a city-bound drop-off about 55 minutes away. It is separate from the airport-bound stop 9 (NE2a) at Oasis 21 · オアシス21.
Board at Terminal 1, 1F, stop 6. T2 stops shown in the reverse timetable are for airport-bound arrivals. T2 passengers must first walk or take the free shuttle to T1.
Through 31 October 2026, airport departures are 09:40, 11:40, 12:40, 13:40, 15:40, 17:40, 19:40 and 21:40. Adult one-way fare: JPY 2,000. Seats are first come, first served without reservations; a full bus cannot take more passengers. The 12:40 bus does not accept cash. Tap an accepted IC or contactless bank card both when boarding and when leaving. Follow the operator's instructions for cash and web tickets on other services.
The airport 2F bus ticket counter is listed as open 09:00–19:00. Outside those hours, check the ticket machines and on-board payment options. The bus also serves Nishiki Dori Hommachi · 錦通本町 and Nagoya Kanko Hotel · 名古屋観光ホテル; compare these stops for a hotel in Fushimi · 伏見. Traffic and the route's intermediate stops can change journey times.
Nagoya Castle and Osu use different stations and exits
Nagoya Castle · 名古屋城
Airport station → Kanayama → clockwise Meijo Line → Nagoyajo Station · 名古屋城駅, exit 7 → East Gate. Get off after Sakae and Hisaya-odori. The official guide gives about 5 minutes on foot from exit 7; this is not the journey time from the airport.
The Main Gate and East Gate are separate entrances. Set the East Gate as your walking destination and check opening hours and admission conditions for your visit.
Official castle access and admission ↗ · Main Gate and East Gate map ↗
Osu Kannon and the western shopping streets
For Osu Kannon · 大須観音 and Osu Shopping District · 大須商店街, leave Meitetsu Nagoya → Higashiyama Line towards Fujigaoka → Fushimi → Tsurumai Line towards Akaike / Toyota-shi → Osu Kannon Station · 大須観音駅, exit 2 → temple and shopping streets.
The official tourism guide gives about 3 minutes on foot from exit 2 to the temple. The temple entrance and the entire shopping district are different destinations. For its eastern streets, compare Kamimaezu Station · 上前津駅 on the Meijo Line. The map here uses the confirmed western temple approach.
At Fushimi, change between the two municipal subway lines. Buy a subway ticket for your destination; it is separate from your airport train ticket and μticket.
Last airport departures and the final Sakae connection
The Meitetsu timetable was compared for Monday 5 October and Sunday 4 October 2026. On both dates, the last airport μSKY departs at 22:07 and the last city-bound train at 23:31. Recheck your travel date: the end of μSKY service does not mean all trains have finished.
- 22:07 μSKY to Meitetsu Nagoya: weekday result Kanayama 22:31 → Meitetsu Nagoya 22:36. Base fare and μticket are both required.
- 23:31 Limited Express to Meitetsu Gifu, ordinary cars only: weekday result Kanayama 00:01 → Meitetsu Nagoya 00:06 the next day. No seat surcharge, but no guaranteed seat.
- Last Sakae bus: 21:40: through 31 October, T1 stop 6 → Tokyu Hotel 22:30 → Sakae NE2b 22:35. These are airport-to-city times.
The clockwise Meijo Line's last connection is listed as Kanayama 00:04 → Sakae 00:14. The last airport train arrives at Kanayama at 00:01, leaving just three minutes for separate gates and platforms. This connection is not guaranteed. For Sakae, take an earlier train or plan a taxi from Kanayama. A subway train terminating at Kanayama does not take you to Sakae.
From T2, add the 7–10-minute station approach to immigration, baggage collection and ticketing. A landing time before departure does not guarantee boarding. No confirmed official promise says trains or scheduled buses will wait for a delayed flight.

If a flight delay may make you miss a reserved train
Online Meitetsu μtickets allow two free changes up to one minute before the booked departure. Station-bought special-car tickets allow one free change before departure. The new service must have a seat available; fare differences may apply to discounted online tickets. Do not assume a missed μticket is valid on the next train or can be changed after departure.
Voluntary refunds list a JPY 220 fee and must meet the before-departure conditions. A Meitetsu cancellation or delay of over one hour has different refund rules from a delayed flight. Use the online purchase/change/refund menu or ask station staff for a paper ticket.
Bus web tickets do not reserve a seat. CentX and WILLER tickets are refunded through the app or seller where purchased, with a listed JPY 100 fee. Check validity dates and unused-ticket conditions. Ask the operator about cancellations and road closures: Nagoya Central office +81-52-304-9951.

After public transport ends
Use the taxi rank on T1 Access Plaza 1F. At T2 outside 1F, phone an official operator for dispatch. Meitetsu Chita Taxi's 24-hour number is +81-569-37-1112; a vehicle may not be immediately available.
Airport reference estimates are JPY 16,000 / 50 minutes to Nagoya Station or JPY 15,500 / 45 minutes to Sakae, excluding motorway and access bridge tolls. These are not fixed quotes. Destination, traffic and night rates affect the final fare. Meitetsu Chita Taxi lists a 20% surcharge on distance and waiting charges from 22:00 to 05:00. Confirm the estimate and accepted card when calling.
Meter and night rates ↗ · Accepted payments ↗
Tsubame's pre-booked airport-to-central-Nagoya vehicle has a separate reference fare of about JPY 17,700 per vehicle, including tax and motorway tolls, with a 20% surcharge from 22:00 to 05:00. Book from one month before travel until 09:00 two days before. The operator asks for cancellations by phone by 17:00 the previous day. Confirm waiting limits, extra charges and cancellation terms when booking; contact +81-52-604-8183 if your arrival changes.
A booking service whose deadline has passed is not an immediate late-night fallback. If no vehicle is available, confirm an airport-area hotel room, late check-in and the terminal-to-hotel connection. An open airport building does not guarantee sleeping space or a hotel room.
If the subway has ended after you reach the city, use a taxi to your hotel or check the actual walking route, crossings and entrance before setting off. Keep your hotel's address, check-in deadline, lift locations and a charged phone ready when travelling alone with luggage.
Typhoons and strong winds

Baggage and rental-car collection conditions
Meitetsu's free carry-on allowance is up to two portable items, each within 250 cm combined dimensions, 30 kg and 2 m length. Everyday belongings such as handbags are excluded from the count, but restrictions can apply if bags obstruct other passengers. A μSKY seat booking does not reserve luggage space. Keep doors and aisles clear and look after your bags.
Bus rules separately restrict items larger than a 63 cm cube, heavier than 30 kg or exceeding 2 m combined dimensions. Tell the driver your stop, load and collect hold luggage yourself, and keep valuables with you. Railway limits are not bus limits.
Airport rental-company hours listed in the official guide include Toyota 07:30–22:00; Nippon, Orix and Nissan 08:00–20:00; and Times 09:00–19:00. Your booking determines the collection point and deadline. If your flight is delayed, contact the company before closing; after-hours collection or free changes are not automatic. Check valid driving documents, insurance, fuel, return location and hotel parking charges.

Official tickets and vehicle bookings
Below is the official usage, purchase, and reservation information. The purchase links on this page are not affiliate tracking links. An online μticket covers only the seat surcharge; the base fare is separate. Do not purchase a transit pass assuming it includes airport trains and buses.
For a booked vehicle, provide your flight, terminal, hotel address, party size and bags. Confirm the meeting point and delay contact. A rental car is a self-drive product, not a hotel transfer.
Walking directions for the final leg
The link below provides walking directions. The map service may use the entire station as a starting point instead of an exit, so check the official building map first for the locations of exits 7 and 2 and the elevators. When going to your accommodation, change your destination to the exact name and address of your hotel, and check the elevators and crosswalks at the subway exit.
The distance between points marked on the map was not converted into walking time.
Frequently asked questions when travelling from Centrair to Nagoya
How do I get from Centrair to Nagoya Station?
Clear immigration and collect your bags, then go to Central Japan International Airport Station at Access Plaza. Take a Meitetsu train calling at Meitetsu Nagoya. Ordinary cars cost JPY 980; μSKY costs JPY 1,430 including the JPY 450 seat surcharge. The fastest μSKY takes 28 minutes on board. Add terminal walking, ticketing, waiting and the walk to your hotel.
How do I reach the station from T1 or T2?
T1 arrivals are on 2F and connect to Access Plaza; the official guide gives no fixed walking time. From T2 arrivals on 1F, the P1 passage route to the station is about 7 minutes. The separate terminal transfer route via Flight of Dreams takes about 10 minutes. Lift waits, bags and ticketing add time.
How is μSKY different from other Meitetsu trains?
μSKY has reserved special cars only and requires a base fare plus a μticket. Some Limited Express trains have both special and ordinary cars; others have ordinary cars only. Ordinary cars, Express and Semi Express services use the base fare without a guaranteed seat. Check your train calls at Kanayama or Meitetsu Nagoya.
Do I need a separate seat ticket?
For μSKY or a special car on a Limited Express, the standard μticket surcharge is JPY 450. Totals are JPY 1,430 to Meitetsu Nagoya and JPY 1,360 to Kanayama. An online μticket does not include the base fare. A discounted JPY 300 online ticket applies only when its time-slot conditions are met, not to every service.
Can I use a transport IC card?
Meitetsu accepts reciprocal IC cards including manaca, Suica and ICOCA for base fares. Tapping through gates does not reserve a μSKY seat; buy a μticket separately. The Sakae bus accepts IC cards, tapped when boarding and leaving. Its 12:40 airport departure does not accept cash.
How do I change from Meitetsu Nagoya to JR or the Shinkansen?
Leave the Meitetsu gates and follow JR or Shinkansen signs to JR Nagoya. These are separate facilities and platforms. Shinkansen access is towards JR Nagoya’s west, Taiko-dori side. The Higashiyama subway towards Sakae uses separate subway gates. Allow walking and lift time with bags.
Which connection suits a Sakae hotel?
At Kanayama, leave Meitetsu and enter the municipal subway for the clockwise Meijo Line towards Sakae and Ozone. Subway fare is JPY 210; airport totals are JPY 1,120 using an ordinary car or JPY 1,570 using μSKY. You can also change at Nagoya to the Higashiyama Line towards Fujigaoka. Compare the JPY 2,000 airport bus from T1 stop 6 if its drop-off is closer to your hotel.
Which train should I take for Kanayama?
Choose an airport-origin μSKY, Limited Express or Express that calls at Kanayama. μSKY takes about 24 minutes and costs JPY 1,360, including the JPY 910 base fare and JPY 450 μticket. Ordinary cars cost JPY 910 and vary by stops. For a Kanayama hotel, there is no need to continue to Nagoya and double back.
Can I travel with a large suitcase?
Meitetsu permits up to two portable items, each within 250 cm combined dimensions, 30 kg and 2 m length, subject to congestion and obstruction restrictions. Bus limits are separate: check items larger than a 63 cm cube, above 30 kg or exceeding 2 m combined dimensions. For taxis or booked vehicles, confirm capacity for passengers and bags.
What if my flight delay makes me miss my train?
Online μtickets allow two free changes up to one minute before booked departure; station-bought special-car tickets allow one free change before departure, subject to available seats. A missed ticket is not automatically valid on the next train. The checked 4 and 5 October 2026 timetables show the last airport μSKY at 22:07 and last city-bound ordinary-car Limited Express at 23:31. Waiting for a delayed flight is not guaranteed. After services end, use an official taxi, a vehicle booked in advance or a confirmed airport-area hotel.
Are Centrair and Komaki Airport the same?
No. This guide covers Centrair, airport code NGO, and Central Japan International Airport Station. Nagoya Airport, also called Komaki, has code NKM and different transport routes. Check your ticket’s airport code and terminal.
