Admission
A bridge return ticket costs JPY 500 for junior high pupils and older or JPY 250 for primary school pupils. Preschool children enter free. There is no separate one-way ticket. The combined ticket for Kintaikyo Bridge, the ropeway and Iwakuni Castle costs JPY 1,550 for adults or JPY 700 for primary school pupils.
Opening hours and closed days
The bridge can be crossed 24 hours a day. The ticket office normally opens 08:00–17:00, extending to 18:00 in the tourist season and 19:00 in summer. Pay into the payment box when the office is unstaffed. High river levels, heavy rain or strong winds may prevent crossing.
What can I see at Kintaikyo Bridge?
River views from the arches and a park walk
See both sides of the river while walking over the wooden arches. After crossing, a further walk of about 5 minutes takes you to Kikko Park.

How to get to Kintaikyo Bridge
Take a Kintaikyo-bound bus from Iwakuni Station stand 1. The ride takes about 20 minutes, followed by a 1-minute walk to the bridge. Routes 11/21 via Muronoki cost JPY 300 one way or JPY 600 return for adults. Check fares separately for routes via other stops. From Shin-Iwakuni Station, the bus ride to Kintaikyo takes about 15 minutes.

Can I cross Kintaikyo Bridge with a one-way ticket?
Individual admission tickets cover a return crossing; there is no separate one-way ticket. After walking to Kikko Park, use the same return ticket to cross back.
