What can I see at Fushimi Inari Taisha?

Senbon Torii after the main shrine

After visiting the main shrine, walk the red Senbon Torii path. You can return after exploring this area; there is no need to climb to Mount Inari's summit just to see the gates.

How to get to Fushimi Inari Taisha

Take a JR Nara Line train from Kyoto that stops at Inari. Get off directly in front of the shrine. Official guidance places it two stations from Kyoto, with a ride of about five minutes. Train waits, hotel-to-Kyoto Station travel and the walk to the main shrine are extra. Keihan Fushimi-inari is a different station from JR Inari.
