What to see at Fushimi Inari Taisha

Senbon Torii after the main sanctuary

After worship, walk through the red Senbon Torii area. You can return after this section without climbing Mt. Inari’s summit just to see the gates.

How to get to Fushimi Inari Taisha

Take a JR Nara line service from Kyoto stopping at Inari. The shrine is directly opposite. Official guidance lists it as the second stop with about five minutes on the train. Waiting, accommodation-to-Kyoto travel and main-sanctuary walking are extra. Keihan Fushimi-inari is different from JR Inari.

After the main sanctuary and torii area, return to Inari station for a Kyoto-bound train. Eat outside the shrine grounds. The five-day itinerary covers these worship areas, excluding a summit hike. Check JR return fares and date-specific services separately.
