From April 2026, individual admission costs JPY 1,000 for adults or JPY 400 for primary and junior high school pupils. Preschool children enter free. Payment is cash only.

April–November: 09:00–17:00, admission until 16:30. December–March: 09:30–16:30, admission until 16:00.
What can I see at Oya History Museum?
Underground space left by quarrying
Oya History Museum’s main attraction is its large underground quarry. Descend the stairs to explore the scale of the space left after stone extraction.
How to get to Oya History Museum
At JR Utsunomiya’s west exit stand 6, board towards Oya and Tateiwa. The ride to Shiryokan Iriguchi is about 30 minutes, followed by about five minutes on foot to the museum. Return from the station-bound side of the same stop towards Utsunomiya Station.

Stairs and mobility assistance
Ordinary admission does not permit wheelchairs, pushchairs or walking frames. Paid golf-cart assistance requires advance booking on available weekdays; same-day requests are not accepted. Holiday periods and group use may limit bookings; contact the facility.
Winter Tuesdays and New Year closures
Closed Tuesdays December–March, or the next day if Tuesday is a public holiday. Also closed 26 December–3 January; temporary closures and changes may apply.
