Stay one Aomori night, with station-front Nebuta exhibits first and Jomon ruins next. Choose this to separate both visits without changing hotels.

Day 1 · WA RASSE Nebuta exhibits and harbour walk

See station-front indoor exhibits on arrival, then rest by the sea.

  1. Aomori Station → WA RASSE

    Walk east towards the waterfront. WA RASSE is about one minute from the station; adult exhibition admission is JPY 620.

  2. WA RASSE exhibition → Harbour walk and Aomori night

    After Nebuta exhibits, take a brief waterfront walk if weather allows. Closing is 19:00 May–August or 18:00 September–April; last entry is 30 minutes earlier. After late arrival, walk the harbour first. Moving WA RASSE to after tomorrow’s ruins requires fitting last entry and your booked departing train. If time is insufficient, omit exhibits and remove admission from costs.

Day 2 · Jomon ruins and indoor exhibits

Sannai-Maruyama Historical Site · 三内丸山遺跡

See pottery, clay figures and reconstructed daily-life exhibits before the outdoor site. In rain, start indoors.

  1. Aomori Station west stop 2 → Sannai-Maruyama Iseki-mae

    Take Nebutan-go to 三内丸山遺跡前. Adult fare is JPY 300 per ride. Ordinary/special-date timetables differ; check both services for the visit date beforehand.

  2. Bus-stop roundabout → Jomon Jiyukan and outdoor site

    Walk about one minute to Jomon Jiyukan’s ticket office/entry signs. Enter the site through this building. Ordinary JPY 500 admission covers outdoor ruins and permanent exhibits; take a break between them. Special exhibitions/activities cost extra.

  3. Red Nebutan-go sign in front of the site → Aomori Station

    Choose an Aomori Station-bound service and return to the same site-front stop. Distinguish municipal bus stops and Shin-Aomori-bound buses. Return services may be infrequent; fit viewing and meals around yours.

The site opens from 09:00 to 17:00, with extended closing at 18:00 during Golden Week and June–September. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. Check the official closure calendar.

Stay one night near Hirosaki Station, with castle gates/moats first and museum exhibits next. Both days walk between station and park.

Day 1 · Hirosaki Park gates and moats

Walk leisurely along gates and moats, then spend a night in Hirosaki.

  1. Hirosaki Station → Park Otemon gate

    Walk towards Dotemachi to Otemon. Official station-starting guidance gives about 30 minutes. Your starting point varies with hotel location.

    Explore gates/moats in free walking areas. Keep interior access is currently suspended; stay out of works areas. For paid zones, check that day’s opening/prices separately.

Day 2 · Hirosaki City Museum exhibits

Hirosaki City Museum · 弘前市立博物館

After yesterday’s park walk, visit museum exhibits and return to Hirosaki Station.

    Inside Otemon, follow the sign’s left arrow along the wooded path between tennis courts and the square, then turn right to the museum entrance.

  2. City Museum → Exhibition visit

    Costs use JPY 500 ordinary admission for the Sugae Masumi Tsugaru travel exhibition, open 09:30–16:30. Check it runs on your date, plus prices/closures in official exhibition guidance. Other exhibition periods may change content and costs.

  3. Museum and park → Hirosaki Station

    Leave through Otemon towards Hirosaki Station. Allow the walk back; eat on the way if time permits.
