Kochi in two days: castle visit or Ryoma exhibits?
For the castle, visit it and the market on day 1, Katsurahama on day 2. For Ryoma exhibits, eat at the market on day 1, then combine museum/coast on day 2. Both require departure-access margin after returning to Kochi.
Choose a 1 night, 2 days itinerary
A: castle, market and coast
Spend one night in Kochi to visit the castle interior and dine at the market, then see Katsurahama next day. Leave time after the return coastal bus to reach your departure.

Day 1: castle visit and market meal
Visit castle/market on day 1 and Katsurahama on day 2. Choose this when arrival meets last castle admission and day 2 leaves margin after the coastal return for departure access.

B: focus on Ryoma exhibitions
Spend one night in Kochi to explore Ryoma’s life and late-Edo history, combining the memorial museum and Katsurahama on day 2. Walk the market/arcade on day 1; leave museum exhibits and sea walks for the next day.
Day 1: market meal and arcade walk
Eat at the market on day 1, then visit the Ryoma museum/Katsurahama on day 2. Kochi Castle’s keep is excluded. An early day-2 departure makes the coastal return difficult; compare a city-based course.
- JR Kochi Station → Hirome Market entrance
Tourism-association guidance gives about 15 minutes from JR Kochi to Hirome Market. By tram, alight at Ohashidori and walk about 2–3 minutes. The market’s official map shows direct access from Obiyamachi/Ohashidori.

Before-departure/on-the-day checks and FAQs
Can I reserve a MY Yu seat ahead?
Ordinary seats cannot be reserved/assigned. A ticket does not guarantee boarding when full; check the next service with visit/return times. Wheelchair use requires separate booking by 17:00 the preceding day and vehicle/stop-condition checks.
Do return MY Yu buses also alight south of Kochi Station?
The final Katsurahama return on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays arrives at the northern terminal. Southern departures do not mean every return has the same arrival place. Check arrival locations officially for onward connections.
