Admission
There is no admission fee for walking the sand and coast. Check separate costs and conditions for the waterpark, rentals, lockers, and parking. The guide’s beach walking itinerary excludes water facilities.
Opening hours
Coastal lighting runs from sunset to 10 p.m. and switches off during fireworks events. Swimming seasons and swimming hours follow separate information.

Explore the sand and coast while looking out to sea. Add a seaside walk after visiting Kiunkaku or an art museum. Night lighting runs from sunset to 10 p.m. and switches off during fireworks events.

How to get to Atami Sun Beach · 熱海サンビーチ
Walk about 20 minutes from Atami Station to Sun Beach. The return toward the station is uphill, so leave in time for your train and allow additional time to reach the platform after arriving at the station.

2026 swimming season
The 2026 beach swimming season ran July 11–August 30, with swimming hours of 9 a.m.–4 p.m. These dates do not define beach walking hours. For water activities in another year, check that year’s operating information.
The return to the station is uphill
The route back toward Atami Station is uphill. On your train departure day, leave plenty of time to travel from the beach to the station platform.
