Visitor information
Admission
There is no admission charge to walk the sand and coastline. Water park admission, equipment hire, lockers and parking have separate costs and conditions. The guide’s coastal walking itinerary excludes water play facilities.
Opening hours
Coastal lighting runs from sunset to 10 pm and is switched off during fireworks events. The swimming season and swimming hours are listed separately.

How to get to Atami Sun Beach
The walk from Atami Station to Sun Beach takes about 20 minutes. The return towards the station is uphill, so leave in time for your train and allow extra time to reach the platform after arriving at the station.
Before you visit
The 2026 swimming season
The 2026 swimming season ran from 11 July to 30 August, with swimming hours of 9 am–4 pm. These are swimming times, separate from beach walking access. For swimming in another year, check that year’s operating information.
The walk back to the station is uphill
The return towards Atami Station is uphill. On your departure day, leave plenty of time to walk from the beach to your train platform.
