Frequently asked questions

Can I visit only the viewpoint instead of the shrine during two nights in Shizuoka?

Yes. If Toshogu’s steps are difficult, visit Nihondaira Yume Terrace for the views and return. Keeping the city art museum and Sunpu Castle visits while omitting the ropeway and shrine gives a verified partial total of ¥2,610 with the building’s observation facility, or ¥2,510 with only the free outdoor corridor. These amounts use the ¥1,600 same-day adult ticket for the Renoir exhibition running September 22–November 15, 2026. The bus fare back from Nihondaira to Shizuoka Station, lodging, and meals are extra. Choose a return bus from your travel date’s timetable.

Do I need a bus for every attraction during two nights in Atami?

Day one’s Kiunkaku visit and the final day’s Sun Beach visit each use a roughly 20-minute walk from Atami Station. Only the day-two MOA Museum of Art visit uses a round-trip bus from station stop 8. The current ¥3,010 partial total includes ¥2,000 MOA admission, ¥400 in round-trip bus fares, and ¥610 Kiunkaku admission. Budget separately if you replace uphill walks with buses or add other attractions.
