Cable car and chairlift fares are the same: adults pay ¥490 one way or ¥980 round trip, and children pay ¥250 one way or ¥500 round trip. The adult one-way fare of ¥430 on regular Keio trains from Shinjuku to Takaosanguchi is separate.

Opening hours

The cable car ride takes about six minutes each way, and the first departure is normally at 8:00 AM. From September through November, the last departure is at 5:45 PM on weekdays or 6:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Inspections, maintenance, bad weather, and events can change service; check the day's operating notice.

How to get to Mount Takao Cable Car

Board a train for Takaosanguchi at Keio Shinjuku Station. Depending on the train, you may need to transfer at Kitano Station. From Takaosanguchi Station, walk about five minutes to Kiyotaki Station to board the cable car.

Allow time for the downhill cable car

Last departures vary by season and day of the week, and inspections, weather, or events can change them. Check the last departure before your walk if you plan to ride back down. On a day without service, move your mountain visit to another day instead of attempting an unplanned walk down.
