After the keep, cross Tsukimi Bridge to Korakuen's south-gate ticket office. The official access reference is about five minutes between south gate and castle; stairs and ticket queues are extra. Allow half a day for both places and lunch. General combined admission is ¥800 on days it is sold; separate tickets total ¥1,000 when it is not. The garden closes at 6 p.m. March 20–September 30 and 5 p.m. October 1–March 19, with admission ending 15 minutes before each. If arriving late, decide whether to visit just one before buying a combined ticket.

Allow two to three hours for Western paintings in the Main Gallery, the Craft Art/Eastern Art galleries and the Torajiro Kojima Memorial Hall. General admission for all three is ¥2,000; reentry to the same gallery is generally not allowed. The Memorial Hall opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. March–November and 3 p.m. December–February. Check how this differs from the Main Gallery's seasonal admission cutoffs; adjust your visit date if you cannot allow time for all three. Audio guides, meals and purchases cost extra.

Day 3 · Washuzan sunset program
See two viewpoints, then return to Kojima Station on the same bus

From Okayama Station, take a Seto Ohashi Line local train stopping at Kojima and go to stop 5 in front of the station. Choose JR services around the sunset program's monthly departure time for Fridays, Saturdays and days before public holidays. If the operating day does not fit or JR connections are too tight after its scheduled return, omit the sea visit and rest in Okayama.

- Kojima Station stop 5 → Sanbyakuzan and Washuzan circuit
The sunset program visits Sanbyakuzan and Washuzan viewpoints, then returns to Kojima Station. Each viewpoint stop allows about 15 minutes; the fare is ¥540. Follow the official monthly departure/return table. No reservation is required, but you cannot board if full; omit the visit if you have not arranged alternative transport. Follow crew instructions for walking onsite.

When should I leave Okayama to catch the sunset program?
Departure changes by season, so first check Kojima Station stop 5's official monthly time. Choose a local train from Okayama stopping at Kojima and allow time from JR arrival to the bus stop. Also check whether you can catch Okayama-bound JR after the program returns. Omit Washuzan that day if connections do not fit.

How much less transport do I pay if skipping Washuzan sunset from Okayama?
The three-night Okayama itinerary for castle/garden, Ohara, Washuzan and Kibitsu has a checked subtotal of ¥5,760. Does the sunset program use the same ticket as the daytime loop bus?
They use different tickets. The daytime adult one-day pass is ¥520; the separate sunset program costs ¥540 for both adults and children. The temporary daytime service uses Kojima Station stop 4; the sunset program uses stop 5. Check sunset operating days and monthly timetables separately.
