After the keep, cross Tsukimi Bridge to Korakuen’s south-gate ticket office. The official roughly 5-minute south-gate–castle access excludes stairs and ticket queues. Allow half a day for both places and lunch. The standard joint ticket is JPY 800 when sold; separate tickets total JPY 1,000 otherwise. The garden closes 20 March–30 September at 18:00 or 1 October–19 March at 17:00, with entry ending 15 minutes earlier. After a late arrival, decide whether to see only one before buying a joint ticket.

Take a westbound JR train stopping at Kurashiki. From its south exit, follow the quarter streets for about 15 minutes to Ohara’s main-building ticket office at 1-1-15 Chuo. The quarter’s roughly 10-minute entrance walk does not reach the museum.

Allow 2–3 hours for the main building’s Western paintings, Craft Art and Asian Art Gallery, and Kojima Torajiro Memorial Hall. The standard three-building ticket is JPY 2,000; re-entry to the same building is generally not allowed. The Memorial Hall opens at 10:00 and closes March–November 16:00 or December–February 15:00, unlike the main building’s seasonal entry deadline. Change the visit date if you cannot fit all three. Audio guides, meals and purchases cost extra.

Day 3 · Washuzan sunset programme
Two viewpoints, then the same bus back to Kojima

From Okayama, take a Seto Ohashi Line local service stopping at Kojima, then reach stand 5 outside the station. Match JR to the monthly sunset departure on Fridays, Saturdays or days before public holidays. If the operating day or return JR connection does not fit, omit the coast and rest in Okayama.

- Kojima Station stand 5 → Sanbyakuzan and Washuzan circuit
The sunset programme visits Sanbyakuzan and Washuzan viewpoints before returning to Kojima Station. Each viewpoint allows about 15 minutes; fare is JPY 540. Follow the official monthly departure and return table. No reservation is needed, but you cannot board if full; omit the visit if no alternative transport is arranged. Follow crew instructions for walking at the stops.

After the programme bus returns to Kojima, take an Okayama-bound local train. Choose JR leaving time for boarding preparation after the scheduled bus return. Stay in Okayama again.

Departure varies by season, so first check Kojima stand 5’s monthly official time. Choose a local train stopping at Kojima and allow time to reach the bus stand after alighting. Check JR back towards Okayama after the programme too. If connections do not fit, omit Washuzan that day.

How much less is the Okayama route without the Washuzan sunset trip?
The three-night Okayama route for castle, garden, Ohara, Washuzan and Kibitsu totals JPY 5,760. If you buy neither the JPY 1,020 Kojima JR return nor JPY 540 programme ticket, deduct JPY 1,560 to leave JPY 4,200.
