Sea views between the pines
A pine path follows the sandbar. Walk among the trees for close sea views, or cover only part and return along the same path.
How to get to Amanohashidate
From Kyoto Tango Railway’s Amanohashidate station, walk about five minutes to the sandbar entrance. The whole crossing takes about 50 minutes one way, separate from the entrance walk. The four- and five-day southern Monju plans walk only the southern section and return the same way.
Before you visit
Allow return time for a full crossing
Crossing the whole sandbar takes about 50 minutes one way. Allow time to walk back if you go to the far end. A boat return needs separate checks of operations, fare and boarding location for your date.
Distinguish bridge works from vessel restrictions
The September 2026 Daitenkyo Bridge notice restricts vessels passing beneath it and states no walking impact. Recheck works and passage guidance for your date in official notices and on site.
