Admission

Individual permanent-exhibition admission is JPY 200 for general visitors. From 1 April 2026, senior high school students and younger enter free with proof such as a student card at reception. The adjacent National Peace Memorial Hall is a separate, free facility.

Opening hours

The museum opens 08:30–17:30 in September–April, with last admission at 17:00. In May–August, it opens 08:30–18:30, with last admission at 18:00. On 7–9 August, it opens until 20:00, with last admission at 19:30.

How to get to Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum

Take tram line 1 or 3 from Nagasaki-Ekimae towards Akasako and get off at the Atomic Bomb Museum stop. Walk about five minutes to the museum. Take a station-bound tram for the return.

Separate museum and park time

Allow around 90 minutes for exhibitions, with extra time for Peace Park walks. With children, choose the areas to see around the subject matter and rest breaks.

Check exhibition work areas in 2026–2027

Part of area A is closed for exhibition renewal from 10 September to 10 October 2026. Planned closures are area C from 24 November 2026 to March 2027, part of area B from late December 2026 to March 2027, and area D in January–March 2027. Other displays remain open. Works may change these dates, so check official notices for your visit.
