Admission
Individual permanent-exhibition admission is ¥200. From April 1, 2026, high school students and younger enter free with student ID or other proof at the permanent-exhibition reception. The neighboring national peace memorial hall is a separate, free facility.
Opening hours
September–April hours are 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with admission until 5 p.m. May–August hours are 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m., with admission until 6 p.m. August 7–9 has extended hours until 8 p.m., with admission until 7:30 p.m.

From Nagasaki-ekimae, take tram Line 1 or 3 toward Akasako to Atomic Bomb Museum stop. Walk about five minutes to the museum. Take a Nagasaki Station-bound tram for the return.

Allow about 1½ hours for the exhibition and additional time if walking Peace Park. With children, choose how much to visit around the exhibition content and breaks.

Exhibition renewal closes part of Area A September 10–October 10, 2026. Planned closures are Area C from November 24, 2026 through March 2027; part of Area B from late December 2026 through March 2027; and Area D January–March 2027. Exhibitions outside construction areas remain open. Work progress may change dates, so check the official notice for your visit date.

The museum closes December 29–31. For a year-end trip, schedule the museum outside those dates.

Exhibitions outside the construction areas remain open. Renewal happens by area, so check your visit date's notice for the sections you want to see. Regular closure December 29–31 is separate from exhibition work.

Are the Atomic Bomb Museum and national peace memorial hall the same facility?
They are separate. General museum admission is ¥200; the neighboring national peace memorial hall is free. From April 1, 2026, the museum is also free for high school students and younger, but they must show student ID or other proof at permanent-exhibition reception.
