Admission
Permanent-exhibition admission costs JPY 500 for adults aged 18+ and JPY 250 for university students with student ID. Senior high school age and younger, or under 18, enter free with proof. Special exhibitions cost extra.
Opening hours
Exhibition rooms on Levels 2 and 3 and the children's activity space are open from 9 am to 5 pm, with ticket sales until 4:30 pm. Level 1 is open from 9 am to 9 pm. For exhibitions, use room hours rather than the later Level 1 closing time.

How to get to Matsumoto City Museum
Leave Matsumoto Station by the east exit and walk about 15 minutes to the museum. The official access map shows the route towards the castle and museum location.
Before you visit
Tuesday closures differ by floor
Exhibition rooms on Levels 2 and 3 and the children's activity space close every Tuesday; Level 1 closes on the third Tuesday each month. A public-holiday closure moves to the next weekday. The whole museum closes 29 December–3 January. Check temporary notices before visiting.
