Check the official information below for standard worship charges. Prayer services, charms and other offerings, and special exhibition visits cost extra.
Opening hours
The main hall opens 06:00–17:00 from April to September, or 06:30–17:00 from October to March. Other buildings and Nakamise shops have separate hours.
What to see at Sensoji Temple
From Kaminarimon through Nakamise to the main hall
Start at Kaminarimon and browse Nakamise’s shops as you walk towards the main hall. Add street sightseeing to your route through the temple grounds.
How to get to Sensoji Temple
Take the Ginza or Toei Asakusa line to Asakusa and walk to Sensoji. Tsukuba Express Asakusa is in a different location, so follow directions for the line you use.

Main hall worship hours and Nakamise shop hours differ. If you want to shop after morning worship, check when your chosen shops open.

Tsukuba Express Asakusa is a different station
Ginza and Toei Asakusa line stations are separate from Tsukuba Express Asakusa. Check the railway line as well as the station name when finding your route.
Questions about Sensoji Temple
Can I worship at Sensoji early in the morning?
The main hall opens at 06:00 from April to September, or 06:30 from October to March, and closes at 17:00. Nakamise shops have separate hours, so early morning shopping may be limited.
