For a temple visit and a shopping-street walk in Asakusa, stop at Senso-ji. Pass through Kaminarimon and follow Nakamise to the Main Hall, browsing the shops along the way before visiting the temple.

Admission
Check the official guide below for general worship admission. Prayer services, amulets and other religious items, and special openings have separate costs.
Opening hours
The Main Hall opens from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM from April through September and from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM from October through March. Other buildings and Nakamise shops have their own opening hours.
What to see at Senso-ji
From Kaminarimon through Nakamise to the Main Hall
Start at Kaminarimon and browse the shops along Nakamise as you walk toward the Main Hall. The approach to the temple also gives you time to explore the shopping street.
How to get to Senso-ji
Take the Ginza Line or Toei Asakusa Line to Asakusa Station, then walk to Senso-ji. Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station is in a different location, so choose your walking route for the line you use.
Visit tips
Shops may be closed early in the morning
Main Hall worship hours and Nakamise shop hours differ. If you want to shop after an early temple visit, check when your chosen shops open.
Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station is in a different location
Asakusa Station on the Ginza and Toei Asakusa lines is separate from Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station. Check the train line as well as the station name when planning your walk.

Can I visit Senso-ji's Main Hall early in the morning?
Worship begins at 6:00 AM from April through September and 6:30 AM from October through March. The Main Hall closes at 5:00 PM. Nakamise shops keep separate hours, so early morning shopping may be limited.
