Admission
Collection admission is JPY 350 for adults, the rate from 1 July 2026. Groups of 20 or more pay JPY 280 per person. Special exhibition prices vary. Primary, junior high and high school students and other eligible groups have free collection and special exhibition admission. People aged 70 and older and students up to university level have free collection admission.
Opening hours
Museum hours are 9.30 am–6 pm, with last admission at 5.30 pm. The museum is closed on Wednesdays, except public holidays, when it closes on the next weekday instead. It is also closed over New Year. The rooftop is open from 8 am to 10 pm, with last admission at 9.30 pm. It is closed from 1 December to 15 March. How to get to Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design
Walk about 15 minutes from Toyama Station's north exit to the museum. By bus, use north-side stand 1 for a service via Toyama Red Cross Hospital and the prefectural museum, getting off at the museum stop close to the building. Collection exhibitions and special exhibitions have different fees. Choose the exhibition you want, then check the visit-date opening calendar.
Allow extra time for the park walk
You can reach the museum via Kansui Park. The roughly 15-minute station-to-museum walk excludes time walking or resting in the park, so allow more time.

Can I visit the museum rooftop in winter?
