Admission
Collection admission is ¥350 for adults, effective July 1, 2026. Groups of 20 or more pay ¥280 per person. Special exhibition prices vary by exhibition. Elementary, junior high, and high school students, among other eligible visitors, receive free collection and special exhibition admission. Visitors age 70 or older and university students or younger receive free collection admission.
Opening hours
The museum is open 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with last admission at 5:30 p.m. It closes on Wednesdays; when Wednesday is a public holiday, it opens and closes on the next weekday instead. It also closes over the year-end and New Year period. Rooftop hours are 8:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m., with last admission at 9:30 p.m. The rooftop closes December 1–March 15. Check the visit-date calendar and notices for temporary closures due to maintenance, exhibition changes, or weather.

Leave Toyama Station by the north exit and walk about 15 minutes to the museum. By bus, board at north-side stop 1 on a service via Toyama Red Cross Hospital and the prefectural museum, and get off at Ken Bijutsukan. The museum is immediately accessible from the stop. Collection exhibitions and special exhibitions have different admission charges. Choose what you want to see, then check the calendar for your visit date.
Allow separate time for the park
You can walk through Kansui Park on the way to the museum. The roughly 15-minute walk from the station to the museum does not include time for a stroll or rest in the park; allow extra time.

Can I visit the museum rooftop in winter?
The rooftop closes from December 1 through March 15. Weather can also restrict access at other times. For a winter exhibition visit, check the museum calendar to confirm that the galleries are open.
