Five days in Yamanashi: one Kofu night and three Kawaguchiko nights
Stay one night in Kofu and three in Kawaguchiko for art, ruins and lakeside sightseeing. Visit Kofu's museum on day one, then the ruins on day two before transferring by K1.
For elevated Fuji views, ride the ropeway on day three and walk Oishi Park on day four. For displays and lake-level views, walk the north shore on day three and visit the World Heritage Center and Appare on day four. The extra day beyond the four-day Kofu-stay plan adds either the viewpoint or World Heritage displays and a boat trip. Both options visit the gem museum on the final day.
