Two days in Kyoto: Arashiyama or Uji?

For Nijo's paintings and carvings and an Arashiyama garden, compare Nijo on day 1 and Arashiyama on day 2. For Byodo-in's pond and exhibits, choose first-day Uji and prepare near Kyoto Station tomorrow. Avoid Arashiyama returns for an early day 2 departure.
