Five days in Osaka: separate city and regional days
Stay four nights at the same Namba hotel for separate castle exhibits, Mozu exhibits and Umeda views, or divide the aquarium, Minoh walk and viewpoint across days. Compare Kyoto/Kobe day trips with an overnight visit.
Reduce Namba nights by the nights spent in Kyoto or Kobe and decide whether to return to Osaka the next day. Itinerary admission/transport totals exclude accommodation, meals and airport travel.

Separate days for castle exhibits, Mozu tomb exhibits and city views
Stay four nights at the same Namba hotel, visiting castle history exhibits, Mozu tomb exhibits and Umeda views on separate days. Compared with the aquarium/waterfall route, this spends a day on Sakai's history and day 4 resting in Namba.

Choose four nights in Namba with Kaiyukan and Minoh Falls if marine life appeals more than tomb exhibits. Give the aquarium, waterfall walk and Umeda observatory separate days.

Day 1 · Castle tower exhibits from Namba
Have lunch in Namba, then enjoy the castle exhibits and park. If you arrive late, shorten the visit to meet last admission or move it to another day.
- Namba → Hommachi
After lunch, take a northbound Midosuji Line train from Namba. Get off two stops later at Hommachi and change to the Chuo Line.
- Hommachi → Tanimachi 4-chome
At Hommachi, stay inside the gates and change to the Chuo Line towards Nagata and Ikoma for Tanimachi 4-chome. Search Namba → Hommachi → Tanimachi 4-chome for your date, allowing for platform changes and train waits at Hommachi.
- Tanimachi 4-chome Exit 9 → Otemon and castle tower
From Tanimachi 4-chome Exit 9, follow the park map through Otemon to the castle tower ticket and entry area. The official station-to-tower walk is about 15–20 minutes. A tower visit usually takes 50–60 minutes, or about 90 minutes for a closer look. Walk around the exterior and moat afterwards. Shorten the park walk for long ticket queues; choose other paid areas such as Nishinomaru Garden separately.
- Castle tower → Tanimachi 4-chome, Hommachi and Namba
Return to Tanimachi 4-chome after the visit and take the Chuo Line west towards Hommachi. Change to the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu for Namba. Check in and eat in Namba. For evening views, briefly visit Ebisubashi and leave the river walk for the final day.
- Late arrivals and closure days → Adjusting your visit
Tower entry ends at 17:30 but may close earlier when busy. Closed 28 December–1 January. After a late arrival, eat in Namba on day 1 and consider replacing day 4's Namba rest with the tower. Check closures and transport for the new date first; avoid also trying to fit every part of Namba Parks Garden in. Omit the exhibits if no other day allows entry time.
Day 2 · Mozu exhibits, then back to your Namba hotel
Learn about tomb shapes and history at the free visitor centre. Choose the exterior worship area according to on-site access, then return to Namba after lunch.
- Namba hotel → Metro Tennoji and JR Hanwa Line
After breakfast, take the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu. Leave Metro's gates at Tennoji and walk to the JR Hanwa Line platforms. The two operators require separate tickets.

- JR Tennoji → Mozu Station west exit
Take a Hanwa Line local train stopping at Mozu. Choose a direct local service from Tennoji in the official journey search; do not remain on a rapid train. The verified ordinary adult one-way fare is ¥240.

- Mozu Station west exit → Mozu Kofungun Visitor Center
Walk to the visitor centre 350 m west of Mozu Station. Standard official hours are 09:00–18:00 with free admission, closed 29 December–3 January. Exhibits and aerial footage show the tombs' overall shapes, which are difficult to see from the ground. You do not enter the actual tomb interiors.

- Visitor centre → Optional exterior tomb visit and lunch
After checking notices at the centre, you can choose a walk to the exterior worship area and surroundings of Emperor Nintoku's tomb. Sakai City's approximately 10-minute tomb walk starts at Mozu Station, not the centre. Imperial Household Agency general worship hours are 08:30–17:00. Weekends, Japanese public holidays, 29 December–3 January, events or management work may restrict access; check your date's notices. Finish with the exhibits alone when access is restricted. The basic itinerary excludes a full circuit of the tomb, paid museums, bicycles and balloon activities. Choose a lunch and rest stop that is actually open.

- Exhibits, optional exterior visit and lunch → Mozu west exit and JR platforms
Return to Mozu Station after exhibits and lunch. Directly from the centre, retrace the 350 m route west of the station. After an exterior walk or restaurant stop, allow the walk from there instead. If attending a centre event, search local trains departing afterwards and shorten the walk if your return becomes late.

- Mozu Station → JR Tennoji
Take a Hanwa Line local towards Tennoji from Mozu. Choose a direct local in the official search, distinguishing it from faster routes with transfers. The verified ordinary adult one-way fare is ¥240. After arriving at JR Tennoji, continue to Namba by Metro.
- JR Tennoji → Metro Namba and the same hotel
Leave the JR gates and follow Osaka Metro Midosuji Line signs to its gates. The operators require separate tickets. Take a northbound train towards Namba and Umeda, get off at Namba and return to your booked hotel for dinner and rest. Walking and waiting between JR and Metro, and Namba-to-hotel access, are additional. This day ends with another night at your Namba hotel.
Day 3 · Umeda views, then back to Namba
- Namba hotel → Metro Umeda
After breakfast, take the Midosuji Line north towards Umeda and Shin-Osaka. Keep platform-to-North-Gate walking, meals and shopping separate from train journey time.
- Metro Umeda North Gate → Dedicated Floating Garden entrance
Pass Yodobashi and LINKS, then walk between Grand Front's north and south buildings. Cross the intersection and take the short underpass. Return to street level, with the Sky Building across the road. Official walks of about 9 minutes from Metro Umeda and 7 minutes from JR Osaka use different starting points. Find the outside observatory entrance, separate from office elevators.
- Floating Garden Observatory → Umeda Station and Namba hotel
This proposes afternoon views using standard adult admission of ¥2,000 and hours of 09:30–22:30, with entry until 22:00. Check special hours and date-specific tickets, then decide how long to stay based on dinner plans. Return along the same walk to Umeda and take the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu for Namba. For sunset, compare your date's sunset time and return train. Check Namba-to-hotel directions against your booked address.

Day 4 · Time for Namba Parks Garden and meals
- Namba hotel → Namba Parks Garden
Visit after 10:00. It is about 7 minutes from Midosuji Line Namba, with a connection from Nankai Namba. Start at the second-floor garden entrance and choose only the floors you want to walk. Free independent access is 10:00–24:00; closures follow Namba Parks.
- Parks Garden → Namba meal and return to your hotel
Choose lunch and any shopping from restaurants and stores opening after 11:00. This does not require every garden floor or a paid tour. In poor weather, shorten the garden walk and choose indoor meals and rest. Meals and shopping are excluded from the subtotal. Return to the same Namba hotel for the final night afterwards.
Day 5 · Riverside walk, then depart from Namba Station
- Namba hotel → Dotonbori riverside
Take a short riverside walk in the morning. The tourism bureau lists about 5 minutes from Midosuji Line Namba Station to the path. Head towards Dotonbori and Ebisubashi, pass the signs around the bridge and descend to the riverside path. Return towards Ebisubashi after the walk. No river cruise is included.
- Dotonbori riverside → Meal and return to Namba Station
Return towards Ebisubashi and Namba Station after your walk and meal. Restaurants and shops have individual hours and may not open early in the morning. For a morning departure, skip the riverside and go to your booked departure station.
Included items: Tower and Floating Garden admission, castle-day Namba Metro return fares and ordinary Tennoji–Mozu JR return fares
Separate costs and conditions: Umeda-day Metro, Sakai-day Namba–Tennoji Metro, airport travel, flights, accommodation, meals, luggage storage, paid museums and extra facilities are excluded.
Standard adult tower ¥1,200 + Floating Garden ¥2,000 + castle-day Namba–Tanimachi 4-chome Metro ¥240 × 2 + ordinary Tennoji–Mozu JR ¥240 × 2 = ¥4,160 in admission and transport. JR and Metro fares use the existing official search on 8 October 2026; Umeda- and Sakai-day Metro is excluded. No paid museum, balloon or boat activity is added to the free centre, garden and riverside walk. No facility discounts are applied. Recheck actual-date fares, special hours and booking conditions.
