Admission
Individual admission is JPY 1,000 for adults and free for junior high school pupils and younger children, effective from 1 October 2026. The JPY 300 Nagoya resident senior rate requires the city-issued senior privilege booklet and documents confirming address, age and identity. Group tickets and joint tickets with Tokugawaen are separate.
Opening hours and closed days
Visit from 09:00 to 16:30. Enter Honmaru Palace and the Nishinomaru Treasure House by 16:00 at each building. Allow walking time from the main or east gate; Honmaru Palace’s entrance is about 10 minutes on foot from the main gate.

How to get to Nagoya Castle
Take the Meijo subway line to Nagoyajo Station and walk about five minutes from Exit 7. If using the Tsurumai Line, alight at Sengencho and walk about 12 minutes from Exit 1.

The keep’s interior is currently closed. Choose Honmaru Palace if you want to explore a building inside the castle grounds. Allow time to queue and remove your shoes.
