How to get to Aoshima Shrine

Take the JR Nichinan Line from Miyazaki Station and get off at Aoshima. Walk across Yayoi Bridge to the shrine, about 800 m from the station, taking roughly 10 minutes on foot. Coastal paths include sand and slopes; if you need to avoid steps or sand, confirm a suitable route in advance. By car, use a visitor car park in the Aoshima area, as the shrine has none of its own. Follow your chosen car park’s guidance for the entrance, charges and walk to the shrine.

Before you visit

Sandy paths and return trains

After exploring the coast, leave time to get off the island and return to the station before sunset. Check whether your return train goes through to Miyazaki Station or ends at Minami-Miyazaki. If sand or slopes make walking difficult, confirm a usable route before visiting.
