How to get to Aoshima Shrine
Take the JR Nichinan Line from Miyazaki Station and get off at Aoshima. Walk about 800 m, or 10 minutes, across Yayoi Bridge to the shrine. Coastal paths include sand and slopes; confirm a usable route in advance if you need to avoid stairs or sand. Drivers use tourist parking in Aoshima because the shrine has no car park of its own. Follow your chosen car park's guidance for its entrance, fee and onward walk to the shrine.
Before you visit
Sandy paths and your return train
After exploring the coast, leave time to get off the island before sunset and return to the station. Check whether your return train reaches Miyazaki Station or terminates at Minami-Miyazaki. If coastal sand or slopes are difficult for you, confirm a usable route before visiting.
