How to get to Chusonji Temple · 中尊寺

Take the seasonal Runrun loop bus from outside Hiraizumi Station and get off at Chusonji. Walk uphill along the Tsukimizaka approach from the stop. Each adult Runrun ride costs ¥200; two rides cost ¥400, less than the ¥550 day pass. Check operating dates, days of the week, and return departures in the operator’s timetable. When Runrun does not run, look for the regular Ichinoseki–Hiraizumi Line (一関平泉線), which has different fares and valid tickets. Do not treat the approximately 850 m distance from parking lot 1 to the main hall as the distance from the bus stop to the Golden Hall.

After getting off the bus, walk uphill along Tsukimizaka. Leave time to descend after your visit. If walking is difficult, ask the facility about access beforehand. The temple’s approximately 850 m distance from parking lot 1 to the main hall is not the distance from the bus stop to the Golden Hall.
