What can I see at Chuson-ji?
Visit the Golden Hall and Sankozo
Chuson-ji’s ordinary ticket includes the Golden Hall, Sankozo, sutra repository and former protective hall. It combines building visits with collection displays; its scope differs from the combined ticket for the special display of normally hidden Buddhist images.
How to get to Chuson-ji
Take the seasonal Run Run loop bus from Hiraizumi Station to Chuson-ji, then walk up the Tsukimizaka approach. Adult fares are JPY 200 per ride; two rides cost JPY 400, less than the JPY 550 day pass. Check operating dates, days and return services in the operator’s timetable. On dates without Run Run, look up the ordinary Ichinoseki–Hiraizumi line (一関平泉線), whose fares and eligible tickets differ. The stated distance of about 850m from car park one to the main hall is not the distance from the bus stop to the Golden Hall.
