Admission

General shrine visits are free. Prayer services, shrine items, and museum admission cost extra. Iseshi-ekimae–Naiku-mae buses cost ¥520 per adult one way or ¥1,040 round trip, separate from shrine admission. These fares come from the existing October 8, 2026 search.

Visiting hours are 5:00 AM–6:00 PM in January–April and September, 5:00 AM–7:00 PM in May–August, and 5:00 AM–5:00 PM in October–December. New Year's hours may differ.

Cross Uji Bridge and follow the wooded path to the main sanctuary, about 20 minutes one way. Allow extra time for shrine visiting and the return walk.

Take a Naiku-mae-bound Route 51 or 55 bus from Iseshi-ekimae stop 10 and get off at Naiku-mae. Walk about 20 minutes one way from Uji Bridge to the main sanctuary. Visiting, return walking, and bus waits are extra. For the return, check Iseshi-bound buses from Naiku-mae stop 2.
