Grounds admission is ¥300 for adults and ¥150 for ages 6–12; children under 6 enter free. Entry inside the Great Buddha costs an additional ¥50 per person.
Opening hours
The grounds open 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. April–September and 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. October–March. Last admission is 15 minutes before closing. The Buddha’s interior opens 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with last admission 10 minutes before closing.

From Kamakura Station, take a Fujisawa-bound Enoden train and get off at Hase. Walk about 7 minutes to Kotoku-in. The walk from Kotoku-in to Hasedera takes about 5 minutes.
Visit tips
Visit the Buddha’s Interior First
The interior opens 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with last admission 10 minutes before closing. It closes earlier than the grounds, so check the interior visiting time first if you arrive late in the afternoon.
