Aomori in four days: a day at Hakkoda or a night in Hirosaki
For mountain scenery, stay three nights in Aomori and devote a day to Hakkoda Ropeway. Choose this itinerary only when both the mountain bus and ropeway are running. For ferry exhibits at the port and walks in Hirosaki, spend two nights in Aomori and one in Hirosaki, visiting the park and City Museum on different days.

If the ropeway stops, move the fourth-day museum visit earlier or rest in Aomori city. Check that the museum is open that day before switching.

Day 1 · WA RASSE Nebuta exhibits and a port walk
Nebuta Museum WA RASSE · ねぶたの家 ワ・ラッセ
On arrival day, visit the indoor exhibits near the station and take a break by the waterfront.
- Aomori Station → WA RASSE
Walk east toward the waterfront. WA RASSE is about a one-minute walk from the station, and adult exhibit admission is ¥620.
- WA RASSE exhibits → Port walk and overnight stay in Aomori
See the Nebuta exhibits, then take a short waterfront walk if the weather is good. Closing is at 7:00 p.m. in May–August and 6:00 p.m. in September–April, with last admission 30 minutes before each. If you arrive late, start with the port walk. If moving WA RASSE to tomorrow, match the round-trip Jomon-site buses with both facilities' viewing hours. If time is too short, skip the exhibits and subtract the admission fee.
Check the official operating information for temporary closures on your date.

Take the roughly 10-minute ropeway ride; a round-trip ticket for junior high school age and older costs ¥2,500. For a meal on the mountain, check opening hours and your return timing first.

- Summit Park Station → Base station and Aomori Station
Take the descending ropeway in time for your return bus, then go to the Aomori-bound stop. If high winds or maintenance suspend service, change to an open indoor city facility or a rest day rather than continuing with the mountain outing.
The final ropeway departure is 4:20 p.m. or 3:40 p.m., depending on season. Check official notices for temporary early service, maintenance, weather suspensions, and winter bus reservations.
Day 4 · Prefectural art museum exhibits

This itinerary uses a taxi back. Arrange your departure time and pickup location at the museum in advance. About ¥2,000 per vehicle to the station is a reference estimate in the official access information; actual fares vary. The taxi is excluded from the total below.
Hours are 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with last admission at 4:30 p.m. Check the official exhibition and closure calendar, and finish viewing in time for your return vehicle.
Included: WA RASSE ¥620; site permanent exhibition ¥500; round-trip ropeway ¥2,500; art museum collection exhibition ¥700; round-trip Nebutan-go ¥600; Aomori-to-ropeway buses ¥1,290 × two rides; one-way municipal bus to the museum ¥280.
Additional costs and conditions: Three Aomori hotel nights, meals, taxi from the museum to Aomori Station, airport or Shin-Aomori connections, departure transportation, special exhibitions or activities, and luggage storage.
The taxi association gives a reference return fare of ¥2,000 per vehicle, which varies with traffic. Because this is a vehicle estimate, it is excluded from the itinerary's per-person total. Confirm pickup location, time, and fare when booking. If a mountain suspension moves the museum visit earlier, do not count admission to the same exhibition twice. Designated buses departing Aomori Station November 12, 2026–March 31, 2027 add a ¥300 reservation fee to the fare. The total excludes that winter fee; JR EAST PASS holders also need advance reservations.
