See the Jinya interior in the afternoon. Explore the former government-office rooms and rice storehouse, then continue outside to Nakabashi and the old town. The Jinya opens 8:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m. in April–October, with last entry at 4:30 p.m. In November–March, it opens 8:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with last entry at 4:00 p.m. Follow on-site guidance in spaces where you remove your shoes.

Rest in the city and eat dinner after viewing, then go to your booked hotel. Check each restaurant's operating days, wait, and prices. If arriving late, check whether you can meet the Jinya entry cutoff or move the visit to another day, adjusting that day's sightseeing and return services too.
Pay admission and remove your shoes to visit the Jinya interior. Check your date's entry cutoff and temporary closures, then follow walking directions toward the old town or station after viewing.
Day 2 · Nohi Bus Center → Hida Folk Village → Takayama

Go to the Nohi Bus Center east of the station. Take Sarubobo from boarding point 1 to Hida Folk Village. Before leaving, read the center-departure and village-arrival rows in the same timetable column and choose a return too. Allow time to buy tickets and find your boarding point. For a set ticket, ask at the bus-center counter about purchase or exchange first.

Follow entrance signs from the Hida Folk Village stop to the ticket office. Inside, explore relocated traditional houses and outdoor spaces, with time for lunch and a break. Walking from the stop and waiting for tickets are separate from the bus ride. Regular hours are 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., year-round. Follow on-site guidance on accessible areas of individual houses. Shorten outdoor viewing if snow or rain makes walking difficult.

Return from Hida Folk Village on a bus toward Takayama Nohi Bus Center. The loop timetable lists the village twice; read its departure row and the center-arrival row in the same column. Before extending your visit, check the next return and facility closing time. Back at the center, return to the same hotel for a break and eat dinner in the city. Evening events and separate activities are outside daytime admission.

Choose the ¥1,000 round-trip bus and admission set or ¥1,120 in separate tickets for Hida Folk Village. Check the return Sarubobo stop and changes on the day.
Day 3 · Takayama Station → city museum → station
After the Jinya and Hida Folk Village, visit the city museum on your final day. Eat lunch in the city and return to Takayama Station for departure.

The city museum is a separate free exhibition facility from the Jinya. Check the walk along Chuo-dori from the station's east side and temporary closures. Choose an onward service leaving time to finish sightseeing and reach its boarding point.

Confirm tickets and the boarding point at the center before leaving. Roads may delay buses, so plan to return to the same Takayama hotel that day.
- Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal → Wada House public areas
Wada House is about a four-minute walk from Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal. Walking time differs if starting at the village parking lot or Deai Bridge. The house opens 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., but closing days are irregular, so check opening before visiting. After your bus arrives, explore the public first and second floors. Residents live here; do not enter private areas.

After the former government office at the Jinya, this day explores a lived-in village and a house open to visitors. Following Wada House, eat lunch in the village and walk public paths. Return to Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal for your booked service and confirm your ticket and boarding point. Follow your purchased ticket's boarding guidance. Missing a reserved bus does not mean you can immediately board another. Ask the operator about the next service, seats, and ticket-change conditions. After reaching Takayama Nohi Bus Center, return to the same hotel.
Check reservation markings for outbound and return Shirakawa-go buses separately. Reserve both directions when using reservation services. Wada House has irregular closing days, so check opening for your date. Do not enter private living spaces.

Do all Shirakawa-go buses require reservations?
Only some services require reservations. Check each service's marking in the timetable and confirm outbound and return buses separately. Regular adult one-way fare is ¥2,800 through November 30, 2026 and ¥2,900 for rides from December 1.
